Evan Almighty
#101
DVD Talk Legend
I watched it couple of nights ago and I wasn't very impressed with it. I found Bruce Almighty more enjoyable.
#102
DVD Talk Special Edition
Yeah, I caught it a couple of nights ago, too.
I think the problem is that the movie had a comic actor starring, a lighthearted tone, it was a sequel to a comedy, and it was billed as a comedy, but it just wasn't funny. Most of the time, it didn't even TRY to be funny. The film spent most of its time building up the story, and spending a lot of time with fantasy. I think if they had produced it more as a fantasy film, it would have been cool. Otherwise, it's a modern fantasy with no edge, and it's comedy with no jokes. Pretty weak.
