That is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. And it's a bargain for all that it does! Hell, Sideshow makes a 1:1 replica for $5500, but this one can follow you around the house, lights up, plays movies and all that other stuff!

How great would that be for parties? "Dance R2, dance!" Make him spin around and stuff.

If only it was a Blu-Ray player.

And if only I had $2500.

This was shown in another thread. It's very cute, but it actually kind of sucks as a projector compared to what's available now for less than half the price.

You can get an interactive R2 D2 that responds to voice commands for about $150. Looks to be about only slightly smaller than this one. Does it play DVDs? No, but it has a lot of the other bells and whistles and is a lot of fun.

I assume they have a Jar Jar HD-DVD player, since that format is almost obsolete now!

It's very cool but in a world where wires rule, it's not very practical.

If this was a blu-ray player with better screen res, I'd find a way to scrape up the $2500 for sure...so very cool anyhow.

This is by and far the coolest thing I have seen in a long, long time.

I like how it is able to sense the edge of the desk (although I wonder how well that actually works). Also, it'd be pretty cool to be out of town and be able to control R2 as he roams around your house.

It protects your house for you too right?

Looks cool but my dog would either try to kill it or mount it.

There was a thread about this player awhile back, but yes it does look really cool. I have an R2D2 that can be used as an alarm and can move around when you tell it. He's also a cup holder. It wasn't cheap, but it wasn't $2,800.

Too bad the DVD is programmed to repeat, "Help Me Obi Wan Kenobi" over and over again. Then the damn thing runs off and gets in trouble with some Sand People. Not worth the price at all.

What about batteries and plugging R2 in? How long is he supposed to last?
