If you let a second unit director direct a movie involving jet fighters and an AI-controlled jet fighter, then "Stealth" is pretty much what you'd expect. While the character build-up is threadbare, and the leap in logic needed to accept the AI-controlled jet fighter (UCAV) being able to follow internal directives to keep the conflict going in the movie is large and wide, it's a bumpy and mostly forgettable ride. It will appeal to the fast-action, blow-em-up crowd, and it has a bit of fun with the opportunities to launch missles and create big loud explosions, just don't expect a taut screenplay that explores AI and stealthy military warfare.

I give it 2 stars, or a grade of C.

I thought it was an entertaining movie with some surprises and logic gaps. I did see today on imdb.com that I should have stayed after the credits. If anyone did, would you mind sharing? Usually I stay through to see if they put tag scenes on, but this time I didn't.

While waiting for a screening of SUPERCROSS to start, the end credits of STEALTH were still rolling.

The camera swoops over the wreckage left behind in North Korea, closing in on EDI's cracked "brain." Suddenly, the red eye opens!...

...for a sequel that will never be.

finally saw it

a few of the bad points

when he shoots the missile while in the hanger. as much explosion would have come back at him as gone out
a refueling blimp
getting close to a village in daylight in enemy territory
her "assault" on that installation at night, and her hitting stuff while wildly firing one handed with a SMG
that was some huge ass napalm missile on that tree line
what looked to be a G36 going click click click click when it ran out of ammo

I finally just saw it as the first movie of the new year. Awesome underrated American action flick! It's the type of Hollywood film that I didn't want to end...

The only good thing about this movie was the handful of EXTEREMELY well-crafted explosions. Otherwise, it was pretty dull. And the logic was very hard to connect with.
