While I am pretty sure Halle did Catwoman well after the Oscar, I know that Foxx had this one shot by the time he was nominated and possibly signed for it before Ray was even released. He seems to be trying to downplay his role, while the previews are playing it up.

Saw the trailer at Batman Begins and the audience was laughing at it like it was a comedy(myself and my wife included). Just looks dumb as hell, I don't think it would pass as a decent straight to video movie. I think it will be one of those movies that will quietly disappear after the opening weekend.

It looked like a big budget made for TV movie to me.. I got the free disc at Best Buy, and doubt I'll ever see the movie.

I think that with the Romantic comedy Wedding Crashers maintaining momentum and Must Love Dogs opening, this movie will get left in the dust this weekend.

the spoilers on 1st page are accurate from what I have read review-wise... there's a FUNNY review on joblo.com, where a fan writes in and tears the film apart in a pretty vile but hilarious long movie review. Sounds bad, bad bad.

Isn't Rob Cohen the same guy who directed "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story"???

I'd like to think even my 12-year old self would have been smart enough to think this movie looked like shit before his dumbass friends tried to drag him to it.

Yes, he did direct "Dragon", but that's the only film of his I'd ever care to view again personally. I'm in agreement with most here, this film looks absolutely horrendous. The trailer alone had me rolling my eyes, so I wasn't at all surprised to find that Mr. Cohen was behind the camera considering his recent output. I'm quite certain there's not nearly enough Biel screentime for me to even waste a rental on this crap.

The first four minutes were on my Tivo, so I watched them. Lame, lame, lame. I'm not sure why they thought showing the first little part of the movie would get butts in the theater.

is anyone going to explain the fire doughnut? while i imagine drawing a fire doughnut in the air would be plausible, the fact that it was drawn by two half-circle arcs really confuses me.

There's an article about this in the new STARLOG and when it comes to Jamie Foxx's character, director Rob Cohen states that he wanted to do something

Spoiler:
similar to what Hitchcock did in PSYCHO with Jamie's character

So does that mean...

Spoiler:
Jamie's character dies early in the movie?!

If so, there's going to be a lot of pissed movie goers out there...

My initial reaction is that this will be a complete waste of time. The trailer makes me think no differently. I can only take so much mindless action (I've already seen The Island).

Spoiler:
EDI, the killer plane, mucks with a mid-air refueling station, causing it to circle out of control spitting fuel. EDI then ignites the fuel as a trap.

Yes, he dies about halfway through.

But seems like a stupid trap as a plane can go up or down to get out of it...

and yes, it seems like a very bad movie....

what are you talking about? it's a very well known fact that when a person is in danger, forward is the only viable direction. we don't try to avoid things, we out run them.

duh.

"very bad movie" is an overstatement - this movie truly blows. Thank god I saw a free screening, cause I would have been really pissed to have paid to see this.
