Anyone else think Mr. and Mrs. Smith is doomed?
By doomed I mean regardless of whether or not the movie is any good, but because so many people think that this is what caused Brad and Jen to split up.
It's still sitting at Fresh with 65% right now, but I am sure it will go to rotten overnight when the mainstream reviews start to pour in as this movie looks like something critics like to trash regardless of the publicity surrounding it. I myself am not checking the tomatometer again until after I have seen the movie. My reasoning for seeing it is more or less just to see how crappy or how good it is without an influence from critics or public perception. Nevertheless, I think it's doomed in the overall sense even though it looks like it might be fun.

Add another to not caring if it broke up whatever relationship. It has good action, it has good looking big lip babes in it and it comes out this week and I'll watch it.

Actually, I think the Split and rumors of Jolie being a "homewrecker" will actually add tons of asses into theater seats that otherwise would've ignored this flick. Remember the movie with Meg Ryan and Russell Crowe? Who even gave a shit about it until Meg ran off with Crowe in real life. I can't even remember the name of it now. Either way, people will want to see what they percieve as "chemistry" between Jolie and Pitt. They WANT to see the onscreen "hints" of adultery....

Yea, man. You watch way too much E!.
It'll easily top $100mil. Might go onto $150+ ... who knows.
Looks like some good [watered down] old fashioned action. Plenty enough for me.

There's no such thing as bad publicity.
This kinda reminds me of how Jersey Girl bombed around the time of the Affleck/J-Lo thing. It didn't bomb because of the publicity though-- it bombed because it sucked.
I think Mr. & Mrs Smith will do o-k. It looks like a fun popcorn flick.

I won't be seeing it because it doesn't look good to me, not because Angelina Jolie ruined my life or anything. I don't think the film will do well. I'd say around 70 mil.

I think it will do worse than expected simply because it has one week before Batman and will still be dealing with Cinderella Man, ROTS, Madagascar etc. this coming week. It should be number 1 still, but those movies will take some business, and Batman will be #1 by a mile after that.
