well, I think it's rather silly to think that the break up will hurt this movie at all. If anything, it has created slightly more interest in the film, though the effect will probably be very small.
As for how the film will do...I think it should do ok. I don't see it opening like one of the major blockbusters. Instead mid 30s, if it's lucky low 40s. It might crack a hundred million.
Overseas though, I imagine it'll do gangbusters. Internationally, action movies of this ilk often times see double or triple their US grosses, and Brad Pitt is a major draw overseas, more so then he is in the US.

I don't know why but there's some issues with theaters carrying this flick... On release day, the big ass 20 screen Lowes Megaplex isn't getting ANY prints... But the old, run down, discount theater is getting one copy.
If that's a nation wide thing, that'll spell doom. I actually, kind of, wanted to see this. Oh well wait for DVD.

I think it will do worse than expected simply because it has one week before Batman and will still be dealing with Cinderella Man, ROTS, Madagascar etc. this coming week. It should be number 1 still, but those movies will take some business, and Batman will be #1 by a mile after that.

As a matter of fact has Brad Pitt been ever had a box office hit of his own?
These two like so many other youner stars are products of shows like Access Hollywood and Extra.
We know more about there off screen life than their on screen work.
I can honestly say I (no disrespect meant) could care less what they do off screen.

Because we all know they aren't actually gonna try and kill each other the whole movie. This movie is a simple paint by numbers thriller. To me this is what Cinderella Man was to some irate DVDTalkers.
