The new trailer sucks
The bullet to the eye is lame
The dialogue still sucks "how could you leave us" gag
Bosworth will make a horrible Lois
The kid is stupid
I will not be seeing this movie.

Nice to know you're giving the movie a chance.

Well, I thought it was a good trailer. I'm not sold on Routh, and probably won't be until I see the film and he proves me wrong. But I will definitely see this film and hope he does prove me wrong.
More like long live Smallville Lex and Clark. Other than Reeve, Welling has really taken a hold of that role, and made it his own. He's improved by leaps and bounds over the last 5 seasons.
more like long live Smallville Lex......

This may sound like sacrilege to some, but I think they are the best Clark and Lex respectively ever committed to any screen. I still have hope that they will somehow get the two of them on the big screen...but not much hope.
If they ever did, Tom Welling would make this new kid look like a pantywaist...and I'll take my Lex more contemplative and a bit less maniacal, thanks.

I can't speak for others here, but I for one am not crying about it. I'm actually looking forward to the movie. But I do think a movie build around the Smallville cast could have been better.

Superman costs soar
By DEREK ROBINS
Sun Online
THE new Superman movie looks set to become the most expensive film of all time with estimates that its budget has risen to nearly $300m.
Costs for Superman Returns starring Brandon Routh as the Man of Steel and Kevin Spacey as baddie Lex Luthor have risen so much because of expensive special effects and re-shoots, say experts.
David Poland, editor of Movie City News, said: “From what I gather it will be the most expensive film ever.
“There’s no way it could cost less than $250m based on what they green lit. It was $200m with first director McG before Bryan Singer took over.
“When Bryan took over they had to re-shoot. I figure it’s anywhere between $290m and $300m at this time.”
Makers Warner Bros claim that the film cost much less at $204m.
Other movie industry insiders have put the film’s costs at between $250m and $261m – making it much more expensive than the $207m spent on the King Kong re-make and the $200m spent on Titanic and Spider-Man 2.
The most expensive scene in Superman Returns which opens in the States on June 30 is thought to be one in which the superhero stops a burning plane from crashing.

I'm not surprised, since this has been a delayed, drawn out production. It seems Warners is going to spend whatever it takes to revive this franchise. My guess is they're willing to take a loss on this one if that means a few more profitable sequels down the road. And with dvd sales and rentals, I'm sure they'll make some profit on this. Even if it's minimal.

It's something we haven't really seen before as far as Superman is concerned. Up until now, IIRC, it's just been bullets bouncing off of him.

Why not have him develop a drug addiction? Then we can see him try to break the habit.
It's been 16 LONG years since the big Man of Steel has been on the big screen. I don't think showing off how much of a bad ass he really is, is going to upset many people.

He's Superman, and we've seen him get "beat up" plenty over the course of the first 4 movies and even lost his powers completely. How much more vulnerable were you expecting?
