RE: WASHINGTON DC IMAX ENGAGEMENT of 'SUPERMAN RETURNS'
well as it turns out, I got an email regarding an inquiry about what's happening:
The IMAX film "Superman Returns" will be shown at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy
Center IMAX Theater beginning June 28, 2006. For schedule information,
please go to the Smithsonian IMAX Theaters and Einstein Planetarium web page
at http://www.si.edu/imax/. Click on "Buy your IMAX tickets online" (in
red) for the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. Click on the desired month on the
left hand side of the page. Scroll down to the desired date to view the
schedule.
The film is tentatively scheduled to be shown at the Lockheed Martin IMAX
Theater at the National Air and Space Museum on the National Mall later in
the summer. Information will be posted on the above web site when it
becomes available.
so... if one can wait, the eventual downtown engagement of the film will more than likely be the 3D version since Lockheed Martin IMAX® Theater can present IMAX 3D.

I don't have to as I've already "acquired" it last night.
Doesn't mean I'm not gonna buy the OST when it comes out though.

That is really old news and it doesn't do anything to change the fact that he's a great director.

I've read about him being gay but could never tell, from the context, whether it was being presented as fact or rumor. Glad to see he's out and that -- ignoring the occasional dumbass Web site -- no one cares enough to make it the basis of an article about him. I'd much rather hear about a director's, actor's, etc.'s work than their personal life.
He's a hell of a director, too. I was very -- very -- worried about this movie when info first started coming out, but now I see the trailers and the clips and realize I should never, ever doubt Bryan Singer.

Now, if only we could get Ratner to shut up about his orientation...

And the other point of my post was that I'm also glad it's not some lurid point of interest for entertainment reporters desperate for a topic. I don't care if he's gay or straight and as a general rule am not interested in reading about the personal lives of entertainers.

ABC News
CanMag
Sydney Morning Herald
Ottawa Citizen
There's more. Should I go on..?
Wonder if this would've been an issue if Ratner or Bay directed...

Ok, I have searched and can't find it anywhere, even tried Google, can Kal-El or someone please direct me to the 12 minute clip about Singer's directing style, I know I saw it in a thread, but can't find it for some reason and can't remember which Superman thread with all of them popping up lately.
Any help appreciated.

Kal-El.org's Media Page is a pretty good resource for all the recent videos that have been released. TV spots, trailers, tv interviews, etc.
Enjoy!

Who cares if Singer is gay? About the only thing this can lay to rest is that "Batman & Robin" sucked because Schumacher just sucks as a filmmaker, not because of his sexual orientation.

Shumacher is responsible, however, for the general populace scouring superhero films for latent or overt homosexual tendencies because he made the entire Bat-verse so flamboyant and campy. Bat-nipple...come one.
And because he's gay, the connection is made is made to Singer, that he may make Superman gay too. It's a bunk assumption, but you can see how the connection could be made.

I watched about 3 minutes of the HBO First Look at Superman Returns before I realized I needed to turn it off, lest I spoiled the film for myself. Fair warning to others who haven't seen it yet. I'll watch it after I see the film next Tuesday night.

On tonight's Larry King Live, Brandon Routh, Kevin Spacey and Bryan Singer show up in the last half hour to talk about the film, and casting. (Regis is on the opening half hour, should you look for the repeat of tonight's show).
Larry does let a small spoiler slip about Lex's fate in the film.
