Didn't think it was a good vampire movie, horror movie or any movie at all.

I think Boondock Saints is the most overrated film by my peers. it seems every teenager loves that movie. It's good, sure, but I think anyone that ranks that in their top 5 should see more movies.
On a side note, I hate these kinds of threads. I always wind up losing some respect for a poster. Rivall11 for instance, I usually agree with him, but I see him mention Rushmore, and it's like a shot to the heart. Oh well, I guess that's just the nature of opinions.

I knew someone would say something to me - but hey, that's just how it goes, how do you think us Tarantino buffs (hey, maybe you're one of us to) feel everytime we start a thread trying to discuss news about him or whatever else and then some cheeseball comes in and says "this isn't Taratinos movie" - while this has nothing to do about my opinion on Rushmore, I'm just trying to let you know that I know how it feels.

But then, I just turn around and trash their favorite movies.

He raved about Dead Alive. When I watched it, I didn't find it funny at all. I thought it was pretty stupid and boring. There some good one-liners, etc, but for the most part I hated the movie.

This one will most definitely get me burned at the stake, but I'd say without a doubt, Night of the Living Dead is highly overrated. Not only is it not scary in the least, but the acting is the absolute worst I've ever seen. The makeup isn't all that good. The story isn't all that good either. Hell, I thought the '90 remake was better. It certainly had better acting and makeup effects. I aslo found it to be slightly more frightening as well.
Then again, that's just my opinion. Get the gasoline ready!

But then you must consider that if NotLD had never been made, neither would some of the greatest horror movies ever. That fact alone makes it a pretty ok flick in my book.

This whole discussion is rather silly. Cult Classics, by definition, appeal to only a select group (you know, the "cult" part). Which naturally means that the majority will not be big fans. If you consider one to be "overrated", I guess that means you just don't happen to be in that particular cult.

Wow this thread is killing me. You guys are picking overrated films, and it reads like my top 10 list. I love Rushmore, Donnie Darko , Ginger Snaps, Full Metal Jacket, Holy Grail, and Evil Dead 2.
I do agree NOTLD is overrated. Dawn of the Dead is way better.
