Surprised by the negative comments, I thought it was a fun ride, I thought the visuals were pretty good. I thought the pacing was well done better then the original. The original did drag and was pretty slow in parts. I like Sam worthington, i thought he was good in avatar and decent in terminator

glad the word of mouth is bringing this one down. warner found a way to screw up with what we thought was an easy movie to make. follow the story of the original, change a few little details but follow the easy ones, and cast perseus right. how they can mess up something so simple as perseus and andromeda are beyond me. the original had magic, the chemistry that they had was incredible. sam/perseus was as cringeworthy and bad as hayden/anakin in attack of the clones....yeah that bad.

Yeah, actually I never believed in the romance in the original. As a kid I didn't give a crap but as an watching the old one....yeah...it's not perfect but it's fun. Romance angle for sure stands out bad though.

This movieline article sums up the movie quite nicely: Another studio hatchet job!

Whoa. I hope we get to see Letterier's original cut on BD and not some bullshit extended/unrated/faux-director's cut because that sounds like a potential Troy director's cut scenario.

ever heard of tom rothman? he's made his career on screwing up franchises. studios like fox and warner would rather work with lesser established directors so they could control them more. guys like cameron, spielberg, and jackson would tell them to eff off. only if george lucas had that excuse.

Saw this last night, easy contender for worst film of the year. Seriously, 99% of it sucked a huge dick. I was hoping it might exceed my incredibly low expectations, but it didn't even come close to meeting them. Horrid, horrid film. Worthington is one of the worst leading men in recent years.
Can someone tell me where the Bubo cameo was? I didn't catch it.

When Perseus picked up Bubo asking what it was? It was when the soldiers were getting armed and getting ready to head out. There was a chest he opened and pulled it out. A soldier (the Mads Mikkelson gcharacter)says "You don't want to take that". Slight chuckle.
I finally caught this movie this past weekend. I guess I'm like most in that I no longer think Sam Worthington can lead anything. I was cautiously optimistic things would get better after Avatar, but now I've seen this, I would have preferred nearly anyone else. I guess the movie was more of a letdown for me. The pluses were that it actually looked really good at times - and then looked so bad I hard a hard time even keeping a straight face. Sorry - but Harryhausen wins when it comes to Medusa. That article RocShemp posted pretty much sums up what I kept questioning during the movie.
Overall, 2/5 for me.
I shouldn't have played God of War III so recently before watching this.

Saw this over the weekend.
spends 90% of the movie working up to the climax, and then it's over in 2 min.
Disappointing, especially compared to the original.

Re: Clash of the Titans remake..
I just saw this today in 3D. After Avatar's 3D presentation, this one was prety underwhelming.
As for the movie, I enjoyed it. It won't be the summer's best movie, but it could have been a lot worse. And the original (which I loved as a kid) is no classic.
Having said that, does anyone else feel that Neeson and Fiennes made complete fools of themselves?
