A little bit of a Bale Batman voice there if you ask me.
|
No, I could actually understand what this guy was saying.

I am disappointed about this, beyond belief, but I will hold out hope that the change in the ending does not leave plot holes and keeps the main point of the ending the same. He has said the same characters live and die, so that leaves me optimistic. I am just worried if they go with the Dr. Manhattan-Energy Beam-Ending that has been discussed, there will be problems . The trailer looks amazing, all of the characters and details are very impressive, but this ending could really ruin everything that has been building up and impressing me thus far. |
goddamn that is hot! I'm hoping the change in the ending isn't a whole change in tone of the story. As long as it doesn't change what a certain character is and make "him" different to a whole 'nother level...

Still looks awesome.
This and Inglorious Basterds are my two most anticipated next year. |
Looking forward to this as a flick but it won't kill me to see any differences from the book.
Watchmen is to comics for me as Pulp Fiction is to movies -- in that I heard both raved about by folks for years, but by the time I finally got around to checking either of them out, I had already watched/read a lot of what had followed them/been inspired by them and in the end, they were somewhat of a letdown after all the hype. Excellent still -- but not nearly what they would have been if I had caught them fresh the first time around. |

Trailer 2 is killing some buzz for me. They aren't called "The Watchmen," for crying out loud!! And the Manhattan effects are looking a lot goofier when he actually talks which is a bummer. Trailer 2 in general has a huge case of ADD (how many different musical soundtracks do we hear in it?), starting to worry the movie will be one big case of Snyder jitter-stop camerarama. This movie doesn't need the "300" treatment, it needs to have space to breathe a bit. Still, planning on seeing it of course!
|
And what little interest in the film I had left (it dropped immensely after hearing no squid), is gone after seeing that new trailer.
|
Wow, really? That's too bad. oh well....

Hmm everyone looks silly in the new trailer. And its amazing what Smashing Pumpkins did to the first one. But I'm still going to see it.
|
Can you guys who call aspects of this film "silly" and "goofy" give me somethin' here? Because I'm really trying to understand what you mean but I'm not having any luck.
Is it that the Hero costumes aren't translating well into live action for you? |

Is it that the Hero costumes aren't translating well into live action for you? As for the squid - or lack thereof - I reserve judgment until the film opens. But so far I think it all looks excellent. |
EDIT: Watched the new trailer a few more times. This sucks out loud. What the hell was I on when I enjoyed this the first time?
|
I'd say the slo-mo is not just for the trailers but is for the movie itself. The slo-mo was on the exact same shots in the same way in both trailers. It's very reminiscent of certain shots from 300. He did some slo-mo shots in Dawn of the Dead as well.
|
The new trailer makes it look far more cartoony than the comic ever did.
|
The second trailer doesn't 'flow' as well as the first. The music felt a little choppy against the scenes. It was like they were just trying to emulate the teaser.
Whether or not it can live up to the expectations of the fans (or Moore), this movie is going to be great. And huge. I love heroes; especially the fucked up ones. |
Zack Snyder said that there aren't a ton of slo-mo shots in the movie. Of course, it's part of what he does. But it's not like 10% of the movie is going to be slo-mo shots. They just look pretty and work in the trailer.
The interview [where he talks about that] is on youtube, if anyone cares. |
