yu is not a great director, but hes FUN. i come on, boc and fvj were hilarious and entertaining. no, not great works of cinema, but well worth my money. i loved em. i'd rather watch entertaining crap than a failed horror movie. come on, its a friggin doll. not scary at all. i appreciate the humor he takes with his work

Yu is a shitty director and I've hated every film he's done
On topic: I found the Seed of Chucky trailer to be rather dumb. I didn't notice anyone in the audience being excited about it. I definitely heard plenty of groans.

Seed of Chucky notes
From my Comic-Con coverage:

The prize for Best Celebrity Quote goes to Jennifer Tilly: "I strapped on my bosoms just for this crowd!" That's one way to start tongues wagging for the Halloween release of Seed of Chucky -- the long-delayed continuation of Universal's surprise hit Bride of Chucky. Ms. Tilly, introduced by the tiny terror hisself, is as manically unpredictable as she is yummy, which lends to the convention's most delicious theater. When each of two juicy clips are rolled -- one featuring Santacide! -- she shimmies off stage, in high heels, to watch with the audience as she claims director Don Mancini barred her from the editing room after suggesting too many changes. Don't touch a thing, Don, it's a gas! Here's the highlights:
Rated R for violence and "hot puppet nudity."
Begins eight years after Bride.
Tilly stars as herself making Chucky Goes Psycho.
Furry-foot'd Billy Boyd voices said seed ... Glen.
Glen believes he's asian due to "Made in Japan" birthmark.
Tiffany thinks Tilly has the world's "most beautiful voice."
John Waters is typecast as a pervy paparazzi.
Rapper Redman directs The Passion of D'Mary.
Tilly backstage of the movie-within-the-movie: "I'm so tired of hearing about Julia Roberts. You know, I should've played Erin Brockovich and I could've done it without the Wonder Bra! ... Look at me, I'm an Oscar nominee for chrissake and I'm a f@#&ing puppet!"

with the exception of the one booby shot, this is the same trailer that's showing in theatres right now... I'm a big Chucky fan and am dying to see this flick, but the trailer isn't really doing much for me... I sure do hope people go and see this!

Well Bride of Chucky was great and worked well. So I suspect the humor in this should be alright as well. if it is in the same league.
Hopefully the film will turn out amusing fun. Brad Dourif is always great to hear, and made even the lousy parts 2 & 3 worth watching.

If the film is in the vein of the actual Child's Play films, then the film would've been good. If the film is in the vein of Bride of Chucky (which the trailers make it look like to be), then it's going to suck.
I didn't like the direction that Bride of Chucky took and I simply hated it... and this is from someone who even liked Child's Play 3...

Hmm, that looks really, really, really weird. I think I'll wait until USA airs it in like four years and maybe watch it...
I am curious, though, was that really Spears? It did look like her, and the John Waters bit was pretty funny, too.

Just saw the newest trailer on TV. I don't know if they were trying to be funny, or if enough people actually think it's her, but the trailer actually ended with the phrase "Britney Spears does not act in this film."
Too funny.

Will there be press screenings for Seed of Chucky?
I know there hasn't been press screenings for any film in the series since the original...but with this one getting good buzz does anyone know if that has changed?
