Budd was already dead when elle made the call and she said Barstow California as the spot for Paula's grave.
I think if QT does make the third in 10-15 Elle will indeed be in it. Perhaps as a blind swords fight? who knows.

budd was already dead, Five-O. and i think it was austin in the movie as well. if you read the script, it was actually originally supposed to be a 5 year coma. and the movie's ending is exactly how it is in the script. and i noticed little if any improve, since the actors stayed to script.

That sounded like Gordon Liu to me as Pai Mei.
As for Oscars, don't forget David Carradine. Simply a great performance. I hope this film revives his feature film career.

I had to laugh when the end credits showed David Carradine was listed as "Snake Charmer".
Also, I would not put it past Tarantino to use "names" in the same way snakes shed their skins, so when the Bride takes on a name like Arlene, it's her way of shedding her Black Mamba skin.

One thing that I would have added (Which appears in the script) is footage of Pei Mei appearing in Bill's campfire tale. In the script it says that we see scenes of Pei Mei doing the things Bill says he did as he's telling the tale. The footage would have most likely come from actual kung fu flicks like Executioners from Shaolin or Fists of White Lotus, but maybe they could'nt secure the rights to use the scenes in this film. But I would've been fine with a re-enactment. I think this would've been a cooler introduction to Pei Mei.
And another cool thing I would've liked is if Quentin used the split screen to show

I loved the second film, my favorite quote was uttered by Budd, I do not know if this is the actual quote but when he told Bill
I laughed so hard I embarrassed my wife.

If you want to have a union of a couple from both the QT and Rodriguez universes with the same handicap, let Elle hook up with Agent Sands from Once Upon a Time in Mexico. They could live happily ever after in their own screwy ways.

ok, i loved it but the first one still was the best. this one had a lot of stuff that was filler i thought. did we really need bud's full conversation with his boss? it was interesting, but wasn't necessacary. there easily could have been 30 minutes of material cut from this, but hey i aint complaning. also, the dialouge wasn't tarintinos best. still great, but ddin't pop like pulp fiction did. it was interesting how slow the film itself was. they talked in this drawl that i guess was lifted from speghtti westerns where they manage to say very little in a long period of time. also, when you think about it, not a whole lot actually happened in this film. it didn't move around as much or as well as the first film. scenes went on a bit long. those are my only grips on the film. oh also, the ending with carridine went too quick. dart thing was a bit "huh?" and the fact that uma killed him in a 5 second attack was a bit of a let down.
what i loved:
pei mai. the 70's kung fu zooms were fantastic and hilarious. gordon lui is the man. and i didn't realize he was that bald guy in vol 1 as well.
the all time greatest cat fight of all time. the bride and elle will probably go down in history as the greatest one on one battle scene ever on film. just fantastic.
probably the most horrific scene recored on film is in this movie as well. when she gets burried alive. amazingly well done. holy crap, that part when they black out the screen and all you hear is her screaming and them dumping dirt on the coffin. so well done.
beatrix ripping out elle's eye. hilarious. and i liked how she didn't kill her.
snake in the suitcase. just so messed up.
over all, i'd give this an A maybe an A-. vol 1 gets an A+

I think Vol. 2 will be the one people will watch more in the years to come. The problem with Vol. 1, and it's a problem most action films have, is that action is not timeless. Some films get away with it better, usually Samurai/Kung-fu/martial arts movies. Maybe it's just me though, but eventually the action loses some of it's luster because something new and more impressive comes along, or you've just seen it so many times in so many other places. That doesn't mean these films aren't fun to watch, but the action becomes less of the draw and the story is what you come back for. Also, when I watch older action movies from the 70s and early 80s it's not the action scenes I enjoy the most but the characters and stories. Most of the action in those movies has been done elsewhere. They are still amazing to watch, but they aren't as special as they were.
Vol. 2 was much more driven by the plot and it's characters then the action sequences. Also, I think the shorter the action scene the better (to and extent), you can retain much more tension within it and it's feels fresh.
I liked how quickly Bill and Beatrix settled their score, it was so quick that you want to watch it over and over again. It also caught you by surprise with the tension at it's height. It's such a better pay off.
I know right now I'll will watch 2 much more, and it's not just because of the resolution, it's simply a better film to me. Both of these films seemed like they were made just for me, so I'm smiling. I can't wait until I see it again.

Why do you think people will watch Vol. 2 more? It's all one movie. Vol. 2 doesn't work without Vol. 1. I can't wait until he cuts them together into one film, as he's been saying he's going to do.

Much cooler car. Jay Leno noticed it and he and QT talked about it on the Tonight Show this week.

I must say that this is one of the best movies of the year so far. I liked Vol. 1, but this is much better.
And I'd like to refute those that say the ending was predictable. I like the way that Beatrix takes off her necklace and places it by her daughter's bed. This is an ominous sign that QT may be setting her up for an exit. When we go into the final scene, we know ONE of them knows that 5-point killer thingie but we don't know which one. Either of them could die.
Can anyone explain to me why QT felt the need to bleep out Beatrix's name right up till the last half of this movie? If it's just for the 'Kiddo' reference, that's kinda lame, no?

Suprmallet, it is not all one movie, not yet anyway. They released it as two, it doesn't matter what the original intention was anymore. How many people do you know who will take the time out of their day to watch 3 and 1/2 hours of both movies together? It's not even a matter of making the time, watching more than film in a day is a bit intimidating to the average person. It intimidates me a little and I consider myself a film geek. Not many people will do the double feature probably, but I'll do it occasionally no doubt.
For example, I rarely ever watch TESB and ROTJ back to back, I have never watched any of the LOTR movies back to back, never have I watched the BTTF movies back to back. One day I may attempt these, they could easily be watched as one film, but it's just a lot to devote.
I tried to do it with KB Friday actually, but I wound up having a good hour break in between. When you have a choice of watching one film, because you have 2 hours to kill (pun?) I think most people will watch one of them. You do not have to see 1 to watch 2 (or even the other way around), so for me I'll probably watch 2 more, and I make the prediction that most people will too.
I mean if they are seen as one film, I certainly wouldn't have watched KB Vol. 1 3 times before seeing 2. That would be like watching a film half way, and then starting it over.
Just my opinion. When they are edited together you can bet I'll watch it. I highly anticipate it, actually. I'll probably watch it more than the individual ones.
