That doesn't mean anything. I think Alien vs Predator sounds slightly less goofy than Aliens vs Predators. Which sounds better: Man vs Machine or Men vs Machines?

They should call it "the passion of Alien Vs Predator" it's guaranteed to make cash

Yes, and a much better title for "Gigli" would have been "The Godfather Part IV" That sounds much better, doesn't it?!

edited to add: It is back up again.

I need to see more before I make a decision on seeing this in the theatre, or as a rental...

Regurgitator 03-09-04 07:31 PM

Cool.. can't wait..

Here's an idea for the studios..

why don't they make a movie like

The Lord of the Rings (The Fellowship, Rohan troops, Gondor troops)

vs.

The Galactic Bugs from Starship Troopers

ReduxGuy 03-09-04 09:43 PM

There is one shot in the entire teaser that has guranteed me having my family and friends see it:

Looks kind of cool... probably a movie i'll catch on DVD rather then theaters though

Shannon Nutt 03-10-04 04:39 AM

Well, I'm going to see it...but heck, I saw Alien Resurrection, so I have a threshhold already built up for ruining franchises. Who knows, if this makes some money perhaps we can look forward to "Alien Vs. Predator Vs. X-Men Vs. Bubba-HoTep"

necros 03-10-04 01:01 PM

I'm gonna see it. Teaser looks great.

SunMonkey 03-10-04 04:28 PM

So, when is this movie supposed to take place? Current day?

I see that it takes place in Antarctica.

They should have made the "Predator" species the alien ship that was taken over by the original Alien (if I remember correctly, there was other aliens that the alien killed)....But then, we would know who won! ;)

Uh_Oh 03-14-04 10:13 PM

u will get to see lance henrikson and peter weller, pretty cool in my opinion

A New Aliens V Predator Featurette... 4/6

I'm hoping this is good. but in all honesty I think the expectation level I have for this is much higher than what folks expected out of episode 1

Professor Frink 04-08-04 11:40 AM

It is comforting to know that Anderson is (seemingly) trying to stay away from CGI. That is definitely a plus.

This thing is a disaster waiting to happen.

Why?

It's Aliens vs. Predator.

Aliens vs. Predator......that is not a movie....it's a f****** video game, based on a thin premise concocted for a lousy graphic novel that actually represents the nadir of Chris Claremont's comic-book career. Directed by the maker of such disposable crap as Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat, and Soldier. An insult to the very memory of Ridley Scott's original science-fiction classic. I can't see how anyone over the age of 14 could have much interest in this. Hopefully, like the useless Dawn of the Dead remake, it'll be a blip on the radar.....have one good weekend then disappear from moviegoers' memories forever.

yecul 04-08-04 07:12 PM

I hate when directors come into a series and try to make small, insignificant changes to make it "theirs". Ooh, a longer blade and bigger cannon? How about strong character development and plot?

I have anticipated this movie for a decade or so. My expectations are low considering the director, reported storyline, and these featurettes/trailers.

I will still see it, regardless.

Jackskeleton 04-08-04 07:15 PM

While I have expressed my untrust for Andersons other work and concern for this, I will say that an Alien VS Predator film would be a good investment if done correctly. It may surprise you but Fox see's how marketable the alien franchise is and How bankable the Predator market is. This is a crossover that has been a long time in the making and it has a set audiance. While his films may be crap, they have turned a profit. Resident Evil is getting a sequel, Mortal Kombat was the successful of the bundle of video game films.

It follows suit to Freddy Vs Jason and the many other cross overs that will come soon. Dawn of the dead did it's job and you will see more zombie films because of it. Just because it's a blip on the radar of the box office doesn't mean it's impact is not made.

Well...Maybe they ARE doing that. The 'featurette' was mainly to showcase the alien and predator suits. Sheesh.

candyrocket786 04-08-04 07:52 PM

Thank God they're going with old school animatronics rather than a CGI alien/predator.

Jackskeleton 04-08-04 07:59 PM

That is a good point.

jaeufraser 04-08-04 08:06 PM

Well, on one side this movie could kick ass in a "damn, aliens and predators on screen plus violence!" kinda way. But, on the other hand you have massive studio needs, Mr. Paul Anderson. But you do have Lance Henrikson which is slick. And quite frankly, show me a movie with aliens fighting predators and I'm there. Hell I watched that 10 minute Batman thing a few times just cause seeing them together is cool.

But Paul Anderson has so deflated my excitement for this film there's no way I will be disapointed. I'm expecting the worst thing ever, and truth be told Anderson isn't the worst thing ever. So I'll prolly be mildly amused in the end.

Just think of the bright side...at least it's not Uwe Boll.
