I assume that the "he hasn't finished editing the film" excuse can really be valid. When the film was decided to be broken into two, it wasn't like they just got the film and chopped it down the middle. extra footage which I'm sure QT wouldnt have been able to fit in was put back in to give each part of the film it's own filling and all focus of post production was then turned to the first film while the final work to be done on the second half could have been put on hold. You add in the promotions and media tour the plug the film eating at his time, I wasn't really to surprised when it was announced to be delayed.

I imagine its cause he needed more time editing...and thats fine with me...Kubrick once said he wanted to spend 10 years editing a movie...that would be awesome!

that looks astounding btw...

re: the delay...

recently saw an old Conan when QT was promotin' KBI.

at the end of the interview, Conan does the usual promo for KBI and said something like "KBII comes out in February?"

QT replies "If i'm done with it. Fingers crossed."

Well, Kill Bill Vol 1 is on DVD Apr. 13th I believe, right before KBII. Doesn't anyone think they should give a little more time between the two though?

More time? This is 2 months after they were supposed to release it, I think they should have shortened the window.

3hrs Long?!?!?!

I just looked this up on the yahoo upcoming movies and found this:

Action/Adventure and Thriller
3 hrs. 00 min.

An assassin called the Bride is shot down, with child, by her employer, Bill and other members of their assassin circle, at her wedding. Everyone at the wedding is shot as well, and Bride receives a bullet to the head, that keeps her in a coma for five years. Emerging from the tranquil state, the Bride wakes up pissed off, soon setting out to seek revenge on her former master and his deadly squad of assassins. One by one, she kills the various members of the assassin group. She saves Bill for last.

Release Date:__April 16th, 2004 (wide).

MPAA Rating:__ Not Rated.

Distributor:__ Miramax Films

If that length is right I can see why its delayed. A 3 hour movie would take longer then 3 months to edit. This would also mean the original was 5 hours long or atleast thats how long it will be now when its combined onto dvd. We will need 3 discs just for the movie.

A director friend of mine saw a screening of KB back when it was one 3-hour movie. Lucky bastard.

Is that true? Everything I've read about this, and in interviews with Tarantino, was that they decided on the split before he even started editing the thing...so I thought there never was a three hour version? Were we mistaken?

Kill Bill Volume 2 Trailer Question

Hey guys, just saw the trailer for Volume 2, and the music gave me huge goosebumps man...its reminiscent of the stuff of Morricone from the Dollars Trilogy and Once Upon a Time in the West. Does anyone know what it is? Thanks.
