Wow. Sign me out. I read the other day about the "boy and his car" Back to the Future storyline possibility. I like to give movies the benefit of the doubt, but I'm having a hard time right now.

How are they going to do the boy and his car storyline if they plan on having Prime, Shockwave, and all those others in it? Will that be a set up or something?

If they plan on having Jazz, I say cast Will Smith as the voice, so when the decepticons turn out in force he can say: "Aw hell no!"

It was a normal truck under that wrapping; wasn't made to look like Optimus. Which is why they never took it off.

I can't believe some people actually want the "mass-displacement" in the film. It's a stupid idea.

i can't see the video, but by many accounts on the AICN thread, this footage isn't reflective of transformers, but older stuff, fan stuff, etc.

so it shouldn't be construed as stuff made by spielberg/bay/bruckheimer/whoever is involved.

but i can't see the video

I glanced at the first minute or so and it looked like just a bunch of fans talking about how they loved the series with some random clips of the cartoon, the animated movie, and maybe some mock up CG work. Pretty boring.

I have got to think that this movie has the same thinking behind it that said, "You know, I think the world is ready for a live action Garfield movie."

Well, they're barely in preproduction at this stage. I wouldn't expect much, maybe the bare minimum teaser next summer, but no real footage until towards the end of 2006.

I'm still surprised they didn't want to have it out by November of 2006 for the X-Mas toy rush, provided they have enough characters to make a lot of toys.

Na....they'll just pull a Batman....ONE Optimus Prime figure painted 35 different ways, with 35 different accessories.

Probably not. Bay's films have made over 700 million in the US alone. One speedbump isn't going to kill him.

What's worse, though? A live action Garfield movie... or that they're making a sequel?!?

Dude seems kind of flimsy. It's kind of neat to see it working, though.

Michael Bay talks Transformers

LINKY

"I KNOW IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I'VE POSTED HERE, SORRY. I WANT TO TELL EVERYONE MY NEXT MOVIE IS TRANSFORMERS!!! I'M REALLY EXCITED ABOUT IT. WE HAVE BEEN DRAWING FOR NINE MONTHS. THE ALIEN ROBOTS ARE AWESOME. THE SCRIPT IS GETTING VERY CLOSE AS WELL. STEVEN SPIELBERG HAS BEEN VERY INVOLVED WITH ME ON THE SCRIPT, WORKING WITH KURTZMAN AND ORCI WHO JUST CAME OFF OF MISSION IMPOSSIBLE THREE. WE START SHOOTING AT THE END OF MAY FOR A 7-4-7 RELEASE. (HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT TO BET FANTASTIC FOUR WILL MOVE AFTER THEY SEE OUR STUFF) WE HAVE SOME MINDBLOWING IMAGES AND ACTION IN THIS FILM THAT I KNOW WILL SATISFY THE DEEP FAN BASE AND TURN NON TRANSFORMER FANS INTO ONE. THE MOVIE HAS REAL EDGE, HUMOR AND HEART.

THERE ARE SOME RABID FANS OUT THERE. I JUST FOUND OUT THAT WE HAD 9,456 ATTEMPTED HACKS INTO OUR SERVER THAT HOLDS THE MOVIE ART WORK JUST IN THE MONTH OF JAN. I HAD THAT SERVER
DISCONNECTED TODAY."

Just so you know. The above "test footage" is a fan project. Not real.

Are you serious? Cos it looks good. That said, what of the "property of ILN" disclaimer at the bottom?

Too bad Fincher isn't making the film. There go my dreams of seeing a Transformers movie end with Sparkplug's head in a box.
