Teenagers are one of the primary reasons I thank God for DVD. I know this will sound like an old man grumbling about "darn kids" (and hey, I'm only 26) but REALLY, teens at the movies are impossible nowadays. A few months ago I went to a movie, and there were kids actually PLAYING FRISBEE IN THE THEATER.

At my local plex, you see a lot of Ricer cars parked for this movie and when the movie lets out, every little punk thinks they are a race car driver- they speed and drive recklessly, trying to show off. I'm surprised no one has gotten killed. It's really out of hand.

Or go drag race their Hybrids and run off a cliff.

Just wait until the DVD comes out and the Best Buy parking lot will have the same thing.Originally posted by mmconhea

Someone has already been killed as a result of this movie

'2 Fast 2 Furious' Fan Causes High-Speed Crash
High-speed racing flick 2 Fast 2 Furious has been linked to a fatal driving accident which took place in California Sunday night. One man was left dead and two others are in critical condition in Granada Hills after a White Nissan - which police say was traveling between 80 and 90 miles per hour or more - hit another car, instantly killing its 78-year-old driver. Police say the two men in the Nissan had just come from a screening of America's number one movie 2 Fast 2 Furious. Los Angeles Police Department officers will now be patrolling select theaters showing the movie because of street-racing concerns.

But doesn't that happen once a week in SoCal? I don't think it has anything to do with the movie.Originally posted by Robert

Ricers coming out of this movie are almost as dangerous as Italians coming out of a Rocky flick.Originally posted by mmconhea

The kid that threw the rock and broke the window... rather than finding him and making him pay for it, it'd be much better to just throw rocks back at his head for a couple hours.

Street racing has been around and causing deaths for decades. It just happens that the media now has this blockbuster movie to attach to this "epidemic", so every single instance will be treated as an outrage.
As for the article...I'm guessing it was more like "riced out Civics" than "souped-up hotrods".

So THAT'S where the term "jumped the Civic" comes from! Originally posted by Mopower

It's not a good thing when a movie's core audience involves a multitude of juvenile deliquents.
10 bucks says 2 Fast 2 Furious takes a nose-dive at the box-office this weekend.
