The three leaders (incidentally also my favorite 3 from the year, but in reverse order) continue to pull ahead of the group, but with certainly no clear cut winner yet!

DVD Talk Hall of Fame
IMO, The Royal Tennebaums is the most mature thing Wes has done. In fact, I did not like Rushmore whatsoever, so the fact that I really like this one is a surprise to me.
Royal Tennebaums, on the other hand, seemed much more adult, very clever and touching. While not the best film I ever saw, I thought it was very good.

(admittedly, i'm biased - my primary contact in "the industry" happens to have produced the LotR series.. also, it's a pretty damn fantastic movie on its own, anyway..)
