Best Film of 2001 (ongoing survey)

I know we've got polls like this all the time around here, but I figure this one will be a little more comprehensive and perhaps even informative.

This thread will be for your pick for best film released during 2001 (think Oscar considerations for what's eligible). I'm not making it a poll because whether you like it or not, that would influence some people's choice.

Results will be posted in this thread, and all subsequent threads for each year, and they will be ongoing... so you can still vote here even weeks after other year's polls have begun.

Please start your post with your #1 film from 2001 (try to limit it to one - after all, that's the point - two at the most (I'll split the vote)), and yes, discussions are more than welcome!

Alright folks - here's the one you've all been waiting for! We're not stopping with the others... we'll pick back up with 1965 in a week or 2.

I've seen 110 films from the year, and although there are certainly some acclaimed films I've yet to see (Iris, Fat Girl, The Business of Strangers, The Crimson Rivers, Startup.com, and Kandahar are a few that jump right to mind), I seriously doubt anything I missed could top my feelings for my pick...

Originally I posted:

1. L' Emploi du temps
2. Mulholland Dr
3. What Time Is It There?
4. La Pianiste
5. Ghost World

But after Grimfarrow's comments about US release dates I am revising the list as follows:

1. In the Mood For Love
2. Werckmeister Harmoniak
3. Mulholland Dr
4. Ghost World
5. With a Friend Like Harry

BTW, a couple of comments:

It's Mulholland Dr, not Mulholland Drive

IMHO, Memento, Royal Tenenbaums, and Amelie are all three over-rated pieces of CRAP! There, I had to get that out in the open, thanks. Also, The Man Who Wasn't There sure was pretty, but pretty vapid, too.

A tough call, and Memento, Mulholland Dr., Donnie Darko, Royal Tenenbaums and Moulin Rouge would all get honorable mention in my book, but in the end I'll bow to my inner 13-year-old and choose

Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship of the Ring

Grimfarrow, since I can't keep these things straight I used IMDb as a reference. If we are referring to movies that debuted in the USA in 2001, then In the Mood For Love would be tops on my list. I suppose I'd like to change my vote then, if possible.
