From Anchor Bay's Web Site:

MANHUNTER: DIRECTOR'S CUT - Summer 2003

We didn't expect to see this either, but here it is. A newly re-mastered version of Michael Mann's original cut of the thriller MANHUNTER. Michael Mann has personally overseen and approved a definitive version of his director's cut and has contributed a brand-new audio commentary for this release. Other features TBD. Closed Captioned For The Hearing Impaired.

Sounds interesting considering that Michael Mann has said he does not like special editions (which is why none of his movies on DVD have any special features). I'm wondering if this will be the same "director's cut" that was in the 2-disc limited edition set (with poor picture quality) or whether it will be something new.

Lion King (Platinum Edition) is due out Oct 7, as best I know. That's for the US, not sure about Europe or releases in other regions.

Thanks for your info. Most probably it will be released in Europe too, as it is not a new movie.

Update.

Added Cube, Killing Zoe, Manhunter, Casper, Young Guns, The Matrix, Christine and Fast And The Furious (some sort of “Tripped out” re-release). Also, updated some details.

The re-releases of Terminator 1 and 2 may turn out to be just repackagings with no new features. Stay tuned for more info.

Postponed: Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Weird Science.

Removed Amores Perros, Cinema Paradiso, Driving Miss Daisy, Eve’s Bayou, Man Who Fell To Earth, Monster’s Ball, O, Thelma & Louise and X-Men.

Any word on when the A Bridge Too Far going to get a Special Edition Treatment. The current ediition has a pretty bad video transfer with only DD 2.0 sound. This film is in need of a desparately needed clean-up.

Amazon has Mulholland Drive listed as Pre-Order for release on April 1, 2003. I'm not sure if it's a price drop or what. Anyone have more info? I did a search here and found nothing.
