-----UPDATE-----

Layoyo.com just updated their specification for the Hero: Extended Edition DVD. (at first, it was listed NON ANAMORPHIC PAL ALL-REGION)... Here's the good news for most of us:

The new specification state that the DVD is

NTSC ALL REGION
DOLBY DIGITAL AUDIO

Here's a link: Hero Extended Edition Specifications

Thanks, BredStik.

I just ordered the wooden box from DVDAsian. Those guys gave me a good turn once, so I prefer to toss business their way!

The HERO EE (China version) should be the same sold from all e-tailers. Therefore, having the same specifications, which brings me to the DTS issue.

Sure, not all vendores have updated their info, yet, but the one DVDAsian.com shows having DTS should be the same as Layoyo, DDDHouse are selling.

So, the question at hand: Are we to see DTS on HERO EE on all three versions from all vendors or what?

Just got a mail from DDDHouse that HERO EE has no DTS soundtrack.

Well, I guess if I had to choose one feature over the other, I'd rather have the NTSC over the DTS.

Me too, give me anamorphic NTSC and I'll be happy.

Anyone knows what is the official release date? (Because at Layoyo.com, they now put 2004-07-26)

The DVD-5 version doesn't have a dts track, but the DVD-9 versions seem to. There is a seller on eBay that has a front and back cover scan for both versions. Although the scans are not great, you can see a dts logo present on the DVD-9, but it is not present on the DVD-5. Are you sure they aren't just going off the information from the DVD-5?

After all, their site still lists them as PAL, which they are not.

I think you're right about the DTS on both DVD-9 version but not on the DVD-5 version. According to http://www.cnave.com/shop/special/2004/hero/ (which seems to be an official partner of GDFACE), all releases are anamorphic, but only the DVD-9 versions have DTS.

If you have it would you care to post the specifications or upload an image of the back cover?

Thanks.

PS. Would NOT buy from that seller at all. He has way too many negative feedback.

I actually have done some buying from Foreign_Movie_Buff and I must say that i've never had a problem.
I like how they state "All authentic" and they actually are authentic
(Unlike the tricky ones that sell bootlegs)

But Rypro,
why didnt you go all the way and get the Special Edition instead?

I think we need to wait until forum members actually has them in their hands, and can confirm the specifications, which seem to be mixed depending where one gets the info.

Glad you haven't had a problem, but that doesn't change the fact that the seller does sell bootleg anime titles from China. Maybe they just don't know any better and assume they are official, but I doubt it. It's pretty easy to tell.

YesAsia has the E.E. listed @ $9,999.00 (it's at 50% off no less)!?!

Hopefully it's adjusted soon. No price info yet on the wooden box....

edit: When added to cart, it shows up @ $14.99. Whew! i'm still holding out for the wooden box ver. though.

YesAsia has corrected the price now to $14.99.

DDDHouse are still the cheapest around. However, I donīt think they have the right specs, yet. Maybe, by Monday.

I love how they just stole CNAVE's picture and then put a yesasia.com logo on it to stop other people from trying to take it.

Sensasian says it's NTSC, Anamorphic, and DTS. I don't know how trustworthy their information is though.
