A contact of mine in Japan confirms that all 4 films in the Quadrilogy box there will have DTS, however according to his info only the first and second films are currently scheduled for separate release. Now that may just mean that the later two haven't been announced yet and will be eventually, but for the time being the only thing confirmed are the first two.

Anyone know if its possible to preorder one of these using a check or money order? I have no credit card so I may have to do without.

And if you believe that I have a bridge I'd like to sell you...it's just out in the backyard, let me go and fetch it. This set is sold out everywhere that ships internationally.

not only is it sold out at every place that ships internationally, it will also only be released on 30 April so unless his house was invaded by an Alien and he beheaded that one,...

tacos: I'm afraid you'll have to stop dreaming about this box, it's sold out all over the Net, so I think your search will be in vain, regardless if you'd find a store that will accept a preorder with check or money order.

This really looks like a fake. Look at the Alien Head on the picture this guy provided, I think it's the exact same picture that we've all seen in this thread, but he modified it a little and pasted it over another picture! Look close, I think it's fake fake FAKE!

you are right Vandaahl, it's an awful attempt at Photoshopping. The highlight and shadow really give it away.

With only 9,000 being made, I can only imagine the amount this thing will sell for on Ebay once it really does come out. I feel very lucky I got one of these from amazon, it will be a great conversation piece/collector's item.

considering most etailers refused to ship it internationally (CD Japan for instance) due to its weight and fragile nature, I hope Amazon does a great job of packaging it.

romerojpg: no they don't, it states "not available" next to it (or if you prefer the rough Internet translation: "Presently we cannot handle")

But as has made clear already in this thread, it is not available until late April (unless of course you mean stores taking orders).

alien head from japan amazon

Hello,
I did order one from amazon, (when they were selling it and received confirmation about it) however these posts here are making me nervous, are you now saying anyone who ordered it from amazon.jp WILL NOT receive their alien head?

I have also emailed amazon.jp about this. I VERY much hope that amazon sends me the alien head, the minute I found out about it i purchased one online, dam if I will miss out on this...

thank you

charles

strfire: if you preordered it, you should receive it, Amazon JP were one of the few etailers willing to ship this huge beast internationally. What I meant is that I hope that Amazon carefully packages them, because the reason most etailers did not accept international orders was its weight and fragility. It would a real shame if the peeps who were lucky enough to land one, receive it with broken head.

alien -head

Yes thanx! I certainly do hope 1- It does get sent and 2- sent extreamly well packaged!! I do not care, I hope they ship it by a insured currier, this is something I really want to have.

I was just concerned why they changed the comment on the web page, not handling this ?? ...perhaps it means they are sold out.

My account status says it will be delivered sometime AFTER the release date, into may...but i guess that is normal since it is not out till the end of april!!

Lets hope...thanx.

charles

Charles, read one of my posts above, currently it states "not available" but machine translation indeed comes up with something like "cannot handle this" lol. Basically it means Amazon is out of the number of titles they were alotted, so if you got your order in, you're lucky. Shipping depends on what you chose during check-out. Standard shipping is surface mail, with a 5 to 6 week wait and not insured. Priority shipping is DHL. I went for the latter, even though it was about 22 Euros. Figured those 22 wouldn't break the bank if I'm already spending 250 on the alien head lol

Expect the actual courier shipping to be MUCH higher. Amazon only gives a very rough estimate when you preorder. For what it's worth I'd been quoted 7000-10,000 YEN on EMS shipping from other etailers on this set prior to it selling out.

For me, being located in Australia, the Standard International shipping charge applied to my order is 900 yen. From past experience when ordering books and the Nausicaa Collector's Box, The Hero Special Collector's Edition, Amelie Tin etc, such shipping charges are set in concrete and will not change.

In fact, in the past despite choosing Standard International shipping, Amazon Japan have opted to send parcels by DHL courier at no extra charge!!

Unfortunately the last time they did this, the order incurred Australian Customs Charges of over AUD$100 (which DHL had billed me for)... fortunately when I brought this to Amazon Japan's attention, they followed up and settled the charges with DHL themselves.

In short, Amazon Japan's service is second to none.

Just got some info on the phone to a store.Seems the demand is very high!Even the big chain store in DVD is getting just 45 sets only for the whole store.Even people who made booking via intenet is also not promised to get any set yet!The release day is on the 30th of April.I told them to call me back just a few days before the release day to get the actual figure I can get my hands on.Will try to make a few booking with other stores.Hoep one of them takes my order and promises to deliver.
And the price should be around JPY 31,290 including tax at the stores.
