there's also no way they can prove that the same buck was used by the same buyer online and in store. that means they can't arbitrarily charge back the online customer since that person might using it legitimately. my conclusion is that unless the automate the verification process, there's no way they'll be able to know who used what when.

I got a happy surprise yesterday in my mailbox - 31 more BB envelopes. I thought I only mailed 100, and had received back exactly 100. I did better with the $5 BBB to $1 BBB ratio this time too - got 3 of the $5, for a 1:10 ratio. Now I gotta figure out what else I wanna buy.

I know the rules say no video game hardware, but has anybody tried ordering a video game system like an xbox or PSP or whatever instore or online?

I've got about $200 in BBB and really nothing I need... except a new game system for the kids for upcoming birthdays.

How many BBB can you use in one transaction online? And is there a $200 cap online like instore? Or is it just whatever the max no. of BBB you can apply per order times $5?

You can only enter in 40 codes, so if you have 40 $5 coupons you can use the max of $200

Can you use 100% BBB on the purchase of CDs or DVDs this year? I know last year I got a couple of box sets on line and paid for them, 100% shipping and tax, with BBB.

Depending on how things work out, I was planning on trying the same (buying a game system online using 40 $5 codes). Considering that the $3 limit on DVDs isn't enforced online, I'm hopeful it will be the same with video game systems. But I have not tried (yet) and would be interested in any experience doing this last year.

Just remember that when you use BB Bucks online, according to their rules, if the order is canceled for whatever reason, you LOSE the bucks. So if the hardware order gets canned fro whatever reason, you will be out those $200 BB Bucks and NOT get a refund (according to the rules). Be careful if you try.

They have to be postmarked by Oct 31st and recieved by them no later than November 6th. If you send them out tomorrow you'll be good. Average turnaround time is 2 weeks though.

I was wondering if everyone was successful if they used a laser printer to fill out the info on both envelopes. I missed the boat this year but if the rules don't change would love to do this next year. Also, if you used a postage machine, did you only use it for the outer envelope and not the SASE (as machines print with a postmark date on them)...thanks!

I used a printer and mail machine for postage on the outside. Inside was hand written and hand-stamped.

ymmv on this though. I ordered a $139 dvd storage unit using all BBB and it was damaged during shipment and my order was cancelled with about $1.xx or so refunded to my credit card. A quick call to corporate and some explaining that I didn't not cancel my order or attempt a return ended with me getting a $140 gift card. So as long as you're not violating the rules in using BBB online, I would say there is much less risk.

Also, I used 40 $5 bbb codes last week to get a PSP online w/ instore pickup. PSP for $0 out the door w/ no questions asked. I also bought an Ipod nano instore using $199 BBB. Sweet.

Only thing I'm not sure about this year is whether the $200 per day limit online is being enforced. I know it was last year. I don't think I'll push it anyways.

I'll probably send another 100 or so envelopes out on monday or tuesday, all printed on my laser printer as some on other sites have reported they even have used labels for theirs. We'll see.

You might have missed my earlier post, but I did use labels (on some that I sent) and got all those back with no problem.

Got my first batch back. 18 out of 50. Got 2 $5s and 16 $1s. Seems about right on for odds.

yeah, probably just missed it. sweet. now i just have to sit down for a few hours to type these codes into my computer off the BBB. might be worth breaking out my old scanner and figuring out the OCR software.

I guess one of my favorite parts of this promo is going to mcdonald's for b-fast w/ about 20 free sandwich or evm coupons in hand and give them out to everyone in line as we wait. The cashier seems to freak out when 10-20 people in a row get free food. haha. I gave all the rest to a local homeless shelter (probably won't take the tax deduction though for the value even though they gave me a receipt).

I scanned them in 40 at a time (since 40 is the max for an online order and 40 fit on the scanner with ease). I just left them as JPEGs and I'll copy the codes for each online order. OCR would be interesting, but might be more work than it is worth...

anyone not using these online and want to trade your $5 piece for 6 of my $1 pieces? I have a large item I want online and not enough $5 pieces to max out the $200.

I sure envy you guys.

In Canada, all we have are $2.00 BBB and you can only use one BBB per person, per purchase.

McDonald's Canada blows.
