Definitely picking this up on Day 1.

Love the artwork for the standard cover.

I can't decide. They are both great, but I think I am leaning toward liking the normal cover better. For now, I have ordered both of them.

Anyone heard any more about this yet? The details provided so far in this thread make no mention of which version of the film we're getting. Calling it a 25th Anniversary edition (thus dating it to the original version) gives me hope, but since Lionsgate Blu-rays end up super-cheap eventually, I may hold off. The extras seem to include only the Americans involved in dubbing and releasing the English version of the film, and not the Japanese folks who created it. I realize the 'Production Report' included on the old 2.0 dvd (but covering the original version) may seem dated now, but it has some quality info and footage in it, and surely there was more Japanese making-of content that we never got to see at all. Oh well, fingers crossed that this is truly the original film, and hopefully those two new docs won't just be the commentary participants fawning over how great the movie is.

I would say there's a near 0% chance it's the 2.0 version, but I guess it's true that we can't always be that certain. It's just that nothing points to them pushing to re-release that when it was so poorly received (as I recall anyway) by most folks. I thought it was fine (in the... ehhhh... it's okay) sort of way, but obviously not a meaningful replacement for the original film. I popped in my Japanese 4K disc of the original last night and skipped around it a bit. I wonder if the new release will be an improvement on that, or if it's identical. HDR was only HDR10 (not DV), but I'm only using an Xbox, which doesn't do DV for discs, so I don't know if it's even on there. I didn't look closely at the label to see if it has both.
I have... too many... copies of this movie. Why not add one more, right?

Just got a "USPS shipping delay" notice. Now scheduled for Friday. Fucking Trump and his USPS sabotage.

My copy is out for delivery, a day ahead of the original delivery date. But in case it doesn't show up today, boo Trump!

The weird thing for me is that Best Buy handed it off to the USPS after 7 PM on Saturday, and then Best Buy sent an alert that basically blamed the Postal Service for delaying it and that it wouldn't arrive till Thursday. If you want it to get here on Tuesday, don't send it on Saturday night on Labor Day weekend! That ain't on the USPS.

But not only was it not delayed, but USPS delivered it early and on a postal holiday to boot.

Since this isn't a political forum, let's ease up on the Trump stuff in here.

Oddly enough my copy showed up today despite the delayed email. It is indeed gorgeous.

Any reviews so far? Xbox has the digital UHD for $4.99, and I’m tempted to upgrade.

Yesterday I received "delayed until Thursday notification." Today I got a delivered notification around 1:30 pm. Yup it was left on the floor by Mailbox/House front door. SWEET!

I read on the Blu-Ray.com forums that some folks were having issues with flickering when enabling Dolby Vision? Might be player specific.
