I would love all of this! :D

How are you going to put measures in place to avoid something that basically boils down to human error and not being thorough?

The easiest answer is having another set of eyes watch it. Like, if there’s teams that work on different films at these labels, then when you have a check disc ready, have someone from a different team go over it. One thing that can happen when you spend a lot of time on something is you start to get numb to it and miss things because you’ve seen it so many times already it doesn’t stand out to you.

That's basically what they should have been doing. No idea how the Donnie Darko disc escaped the lab without the problem being noticed.

Now it's being reported that the US 4K disc of "12 Monkeys" has two repeated scenes around the 40-minute mark. The UK 4k disc does not have this problem.
This has been confirmed by early owners and has been reported to Arrow.

The same error is on the Arrow BD too. I guess I should have watched it as soon as I bought it.

Arrow Video is cranking out a ton of releases and I don't think their staffing has gotten much bigger since their UK-only days.

I watched 12 Monkeys on Tuesday and didn’t spot anything. I rewound back to the time of the supposed screwup and had to watch it three times to notice something off.
It’s about 20 seconds long and has two shots repeated. I think unless you know this movie like the back of your hand, you probably won’t pick up on it. If you’re looking for it however, you’ll probably spot it.
It’s unfortunate so many people are freaking out about it and canceling their orders. Yes quality control seems to be lacking these days, but this is an otherwise excellent release. Shame to miss out on it because of 20 seconds in a 2 hour film.

I bought it and watched it. People get upset when there are missing elements in a soundtrack or if the studio has taken a mono track and made it two channel without including the mono as an option. Do I get all worked up about these things? No. However, I do think it would be more cost beneficial, as well as more customer friendly, to put a few extra sets of eyes and ears on these to catch them before they are out the door. Having to redo and replace potentially thousands of copies will eat into their bottom line. It's not like they announce these releases one week and they are in the stores the next.

Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread

What's funny is that Arrow's check discs are authored months in advance, ample time to check out these kind of problems. Though this error sounds like only a superfan may catch it.

4 gialli from Arrow in 1 month! I'm glad to see that this box set is all previously-unreleased titles rather than a repackage, and it's nice that their partnership with Synapse means I don't have to import Tenebrae.

The Robocop steelbook sold out before release. My preorder couldn’t even be fulfilled, and the deluxe edition was gone at/immediately after launch too. But there’ll be a not-limited release at some point soon.

The LE is still available at Bullmoose. https://www.bullmoose.com/p/35349326...hy-cox-4kuhd-r

If this follows the pattern of their blu-ray then there will be a non-limited release that will not include the theatrical or TV cuts.

Hamilton Book has both Robocop 4K editions in stock.

Steelbook - $29.95
Deluxe Edition - $37.95

Tried again tonight on Hamilton Book and my order went through.

Yay!! A little expensive, but it's a limited and now OOP set, so the price I got it for is very reasonable compared to what the scalpers are selling it for in the secondary market.

Supposedly standard UHD editions of Robocop and American Werewolf are coming in July. And apparently it will only be the director’s cut of Robocop. Eh, I’m okay with that.

Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread

Arrow has the Robocop LE, but no Steelbook, although I've heard ordering direct from them is not the greatest experience. Can't blame anyone for waiting and saving money for the standard UHD. I have no idea when or if I'll ever watch the other cuts.

Saw a few copies at a Best Buy I stopped by earlier today.

Didn't realize it was OOP. Might have to go back and snag myself one.

My Robocop 4K Limited set just arrived today from Hamilton Book. Great condition. Glad I got it. Thanks again Adam Tyner for the tip

Hopefully Hamilton Book gets more in stock, but won't hold my breath. If I can't that, will get the eventual standard release down the road.

On the bright side, I got my copy of Wild Things 4K from Arrow. Looking forward to re-watching some great 90s erotic trash.

I admittedly didn't think much of the last slasher that Arrow brought to Blu-ray, but I had a blast with Girls Nite Out, despite there not being much in the way of gore, nudity, or...y'know, a girls' night out. It's a second or third tier slasher, but I appreciate how it's conventional enough to serve as comfort food yet different enough to avoid feeling stale. And that bear costume is certainly a sight to behold!

Somewhat off-topic: I ordered a couple in stock items from them last weekend and they took a week to ship. Is that typical in your experience?

I’ve always had a preordered item in my previous orders so no experience with just ordering in stock items. I just appreciate that my stuff from them doesn’t arrive smashed to s***.

Re: The Official Arrow Films 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread

Wild Things 4K went down to $33.99. I pre-ordered it a week ago when it was $43 eventually expecting a price drop, so that's good.

Not exactly a "deal" but these limited sets quickly go out of print. Robocop is already OOP.

My Wild Things 4K set just arrived today. Can't wait to see this again. I think I saw it twice previously. Once on DVD and a second time on cable. I've never owned it on any kind of HD let alone physical media format.

Below is the artwork for the Running out of Time that Arrow said was coming when the Eureka edition was announced. This is a US release.

Flatliners UHD is getting announced too.
