Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

Hell Comes To Frog Town and Blind Woman's Curse? Sweet!

I haven't bought an Arrow release in a long time, but if they don't mess up Blind Woman's Curse, I'll definitely be upgrading my Discotek DVD.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

I would be interested in,
The People Under the Stairs
The Stuff
Hellgate
Hell Comes to Frogtown

It all depends on PQ reviews though. I sometimes get picky about some of Arrow's PQ choices.

Arrow Video has really turned a corner and become one of the best distributors on Blu-ray. Time Bandits turned out really nicely and is a steep upgrade from the mediocre Image BD we got in the States. 1080P screen caps and review:

Unfortunately most of their newer releases are being region coded these days.

I've not seen the US bluray to compare, but Arrow's edition really is remarkable and from what's I've read from various online reviews is the best Time Bandit's has looked on home video.

too bad though there's no commentary track.

Super excited about THE STUFF ("Enough is never enough!"). Perhaps it will have the cut scenes Cohen talks about in the DVD commentary.

Let's get the IT'S ALIVE trilogy released already... Cohen's best.

1 and 3 are fun... 2, eh... had potential, but ultimately pretty disappointing.

Well I thought 1 and 2 were the best of the trilogy. Would still be very happy to have the trilogy.

Just a heads up. The Stuff has a release date of March 10th but no further details about features.

It hasn't been published yet but I got Hell Comes To Frogtown for review. It's a nice-looking Blu-ray if your expectations are low. A decent telecine from secondary elements, unfiltered without obvious processing. Better hurry, Arrow only released 1000 units of Hell Comes To Frogtown. That is too low in my estimation for a movie that won't see another release on BD.

I hear it's already getting difficult to acquire and it has only been out officially for a couple of weeks.

Arrow Films announced Nekromantik & The Visitor this morning.

I assume both are BD releases, but we'll see when more info comes out.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly the same as the U.S. Shout! Factory Collector's Edition, minus the packaging, of course.

For anyone waiting on it, the Stray Cat Rock Box Set is 45% sold through, according to Arrow's FB page.

I pre-ordered a copy this evening. I can't wait to get this set.

That's pretty interesting since they wouldn't be able to release a lot of their UK titles because they don't have the rights to them. The one time I interacted with their customer service, my experience was great. I hope Shout has a fire lit under their ass now to become even better because of the competition.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread

I'm really debating whether or not to take the $3500 plunge.

They changed the rewards. $2500 for 10 years worth of releases.

And if/when they go under after releasing 3 blu's, you'll have paid $833 for each one. But serously, I'm looking forward to picking up their US line. I'm hoping they'll keep the cool uniform clear cases and coverart they have for their UK ones.
