Crazy thought: have a documentary filmmaker do the next Star Wars movie, Ken Burns style.

Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker

So is anyone picking this up tomorrow?

It's $35 at Target for the special packaging and bonus content and $30 for the regular 4K UHD

Best Buy is essentially closed except for curb side pickup. No one is going to freaking go there for BDs as curbside pickup, so that's a pass from me.

and Amazon currently doesn't have it.

I've seen it twice in theatres. I'm not sure if I want it that bad to leave the house for $35 and it's totally not something I need, especially in the current circumstances. That's a hefty premium too.

If I didn't have Disney Plus, maybe, but I can wait.

It will likely be on Disney+ no later than June.

I didn’t like the movie enough to spend that much, despite still collecting exclusives. These tend to drop in price and be on a huge sale a few times a year, I might bite if it hits that usual $15 price.

Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker

We couldn't think of much else we needed at Target to risk another grocery store run (just did one on Saturday) so I ordered it online and added some food items to get free shipping.

I can wait a couple more days to avoid going to a store right now.

Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker

I pre-ordered the steelbook at BB since I have the other two films in steelbooks.

My wife ordered a BD from there a few days ago(for a birthday gift) and did the curbside pickup. She said it was amazing and couldn't have gone better. Assuming I get a "your order is ready" email, I'll probably swing by after work.

Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker

I’ll get it eventually. Not in a huge rush to get it though. I haven’t decided what I want to do with Star Wars yet. The Best Buy set is nice but it’s odd sized and awkward. I’d prefer the standard individual releases or something like the trilogy sets that Fox did. Wish they were offering sets of the prequels, originals, and sequels. Part of me is almost tempted to just seek out the old Fox trilogy sets.

Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker

I completely forgot that Target extended their Senior Shopping Hours to Tuesday & Wednesday each week.

Luckily, there weren't many people in the line I was in, so the Associates let some of us in at around 8:30am.

Picked up the standard BD. Can't wait to re-visit this one!

Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker

My target-exclusive UHD arrived today. I wish I had paid more attention to the style of case. I'm not a big fan of a relatively flimsy slipcover being the functional thing that keeps the case "closed". Still, it's a nice looking package.

Re: STAR WARS: The Rise Of Skywalker

I pre-ordered it from the Disney Movie Club so I could fulfill my purchase obligation. I might re-watch it this weekend to see if my feelings about the movie have changed.

I ordered it from Target online on Monday and put in some food and cleaning items to get it to free shipping. All the other stuff has shipped and started to arrive but the this won't get here till Friday.
