Re: UHD release announcements

Are we talking 80's Fright Night? It doesn't specify.

If so, I'll vote for it, along with Karate Kid II & Real Genius.

Re: UHD release announcements

I wonder when Sony will release some of the titles from these collections separately. I think all the titles from the first volume are only available in that set. I have to imagine they’d release them individually at some point.

Re: UHD release announcements

I picked From Here To Eternity in the top area. The other one I mulled over was It Happened One Night.

For my three I picked Krull and Fright Night easily. Would buy them in a heartbeat. Had a tough time choosing the third one but went with Not Another Teen Movie since they never released the unrated version on Blu-ray. Hopefully if they do a 4K, it would have both theatrical and unrated. My other choices would have Kramer Vs. Kramer, Karate Kid II or Real Genius. Not sure if I would actually buy any of them except Krull and Fright Night for certain.

Robocop was referenced in a Warner survey gauging interest in potential Ultra HD Blu-ray releases, so we might get some MGM titles out of Warner's new home video distribution deal.

No digital effects right? Should be tasty native 4k DI if a new 4k scan is done.

I went with Karate Kid II, Fright Night, and People vs. Larry Flint. Picked The Caine Mutiny for the classic one.

Re: UHD release announcements

What an odd film to get an UHD release. I got the DVD years ago and I don't think I've watched more than once.

Wow - Night of the Living Dead (1990) is an option on the Sony UHD questionnaire - I was not expecting that. Definitely selecting that one!

Nice. One of Carrey’s best in my opinion. I’ll be grabbing that.

Re: UHD release announcements

Ooh, interesting. All I have is an old import DVD that I can't play on anything so this might make the "buy" list. I haven't watched it since I bought that DVD either. Region free player bit the dust a long time ago.

Re: UHD release announcements

So this new release basically kills the need to get the soon to be out of print Shout Factory Blu-Ray.

Re: UHD release announcements

I have the Shout one already, so I guess I can cram that one and the new 4K of Mad Max into my High Octane set.

Re: UHD release announcements

Nice announcement, but I’m not enough of a fan to grab the 4K of Mad Max. I also already own the Scream Factory edition.
