Re: UHD release announcements

Apparently a new 4K restoration of Armageddon is being screened in Los Angeles next month. Doesn't mean it will get a 4K disc release. I saw a 4K restoration of The Joy Luck Club in LA back in 2018 and nothing came from it. But, you never know?

Re: UHD release announcements

Would be nice if it got a 4k release before Bruce passes.

It's not like he'd be capable of doing any publicity for it.

Not that he would care or be aware but it would still be nice. At least to me.

If we're talking about doing it as a tribute to Bruce Willis, he made numerous better movies I'd rather see prioritized over Armageddon.

Re: UHD release announcements

Lionsgate is breaking into the direct-to-consumer special edition market with their new site, which is premiering with The Conversation. Which would ordinarily be good news, only it’s a $99.99 release. Don’t fret, though; currently discounted to the low, low price of $79.99!

Hopefully there’ll be a standard edition down the road, or I’ll just import a copy on the cheap.

Re: UHD release announcements

I love The Conversation. Wrote a paper on it in college. But I definitely don’t need all those physical extras so I’ll wait for a standard 4K release.

What class and what was the paper on in regards to The Conversation.

It’s an awesome looking set but not worth me looking briefly at the extra stuff (maybe) every couple years while i watch the movie. Will wait on another release.

DiabolikDVD still has the 4K movie only version for $29.99. Orbit had it but sold out.

I love the film but not at that price.

As a senior I did an independent study in film and chose The Conversation for my final paper. It’s been almost 25 years so I don’t remember much about the content of the paper. I might have it stored away somewhere. 😁

Re: UHD release announcements

I heard The Substance is a Mubi streaming service exclusive.

I guess no one here is watching it then.

Already pre-ordered Cruising, TCM2, and Lifeforce. Cruising and TCM2 will have a Fidelity in Motion encode. Not sure about Lifeforce but it will have the DC in 4K fucking finally!
