All of them (except for A New Hope) are Disney Movies Anywhere compatible. It looks like you can buy the movies individually, or in a bundle with all 6.

Looks like FOX still holds the rights to Star Wars and the shitty version Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope after all. We are never getting the UOT released.

Fox holds the distribution rights in perpetuity. There could still be a deal made to clean it up and put it in a set. Universal still holds the distribution rights to Incredible Hulk, and yet they were able to make a deal to put it in the phase I box set.

The difference of course is that Star Wars is one of the five or ten most popular movies of all time, while Incredible Hulk has become a semi-forgotten Marvel movie.

Precisely. Plus, of course, the fact that Lucas has hacked up the negatives of the OOT and gone on a rampage to destroy every print he can find.

It is, but it's also probably worth more $$$ in an OOT box set than it is unrestored and by itself

Re: Star Wars Digital Movie Collection

I've always thought that the OOT's audience was limited to the die-hard who've been clamoring for it for years and years. I don't think that the average person who watches movies panned and scanned really cares.

Vudu. Really? Lol.

Enjoying Harmy's Despecialized Editions in .mkv. Will buy OOT if ever released properly. Otherwise, tuning back out again while they continue to milk this ugly bitch.

Re: Star Wars Digital Movie Collection

Nice to see the prequel documentaries that weren't included with the blu-ray set. (unfortunately I don't see the OT one) Hopefully those will be included on a future release of some kind.

I would buy Empire Of Dreams as a stand alone for $9.99 but I will not buy the shit editions of OT to get it.

Re: Star Wars Digital Movie Collection

Fox co-produced A New Hope with LucasFilm which probably explains why it's not part of the Disney Movies Anywhere line.

If I remember correctly, Fox footed the full bill back in the '70s. It's been a long time since I read Skywalking which discussed the whole deal.

I agree with this. While the film would probably sell decently on its own as part of a trilogy or complete saga box set is where the money really is. I would think Fox realizes this and that it's more to their benefit to work with Disney and share profits.

I've long opined that what they should do is put the big OOT remaster in a big expensive boxed set and force the fans who want to it to pay more for the whole thing. It's obviously not what I'd PREFER that they do, but if after reading reviews I find the the OOT remaster is as it should be, I'll pay any price for it.

Empire of Dreams? The documentary that had anamorphic OOT footage unlike what was actually in the box ?

That would make the most sense and I would be willing to buy an all inclusive set too just to get the original Original Trilogy. It wouldn't be ideal but at least I'd have them.

I like how their system shows each movie as being rated five stars.

They start out with the CG "News Corporation" Fox logo.

Re: Star Wars Digital Movie Collection

Release date?
Bonus features included only if you purchase the six-movie bundle?
Deleted scenes included as bonus features?

This kind of makes me wonder if the blu-ray will go OOP and a new set will be released (2017?).

Re: Star Wars Digital Movie Collection

$89.00 to have my childhood raped all over again? I just finally finished therapy from the first time. Pass

"Prepare to be disappointed all over again...but this time you can take it with you on your phone" should be the tag line used in the advertising.
