And of course TLH will be cut into one movie in a separate release later on. I hate that.

No UHD and no steelbook, afaik. It's Warner's annual R-rated animated DTV from DC and largely disconnected from their other animated movies.

You can buy it for $10 in 4k/HDR from Vudu. It looks decent enough.

Superman: Man of Tomorrow is damn good. Damn good. Kinda origin, kinda not, but really good story above all. Really enjoyable all the way around. Kinda rebirth of Superman and it worked very well, animation style and all.

I agree- it's Flashpoint good. Are they going to start a new animated DTV series that takes place in this universe like Flashpoint? If not they should.

Yes. Man of Tomorrow is the start of this new animated world.

Excellent. Everything about it was good, including the animation which was a step above the previous Flashpoint continuity.

I largely agree with your take on the movie - it's a fine update to Superman's origins made with today's audiences in mind.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

FYI, Superman Man of Tomorrow can be watched for free right now on DC Fandome. Remember this is only up for 24 hours.

And unfortunately you can only watch this on a web browser.

Edit: Now over.

Interesting...they had been holding Superman: TAS in their backpocket for a couple years now, waiting for the next theatrical Superman project.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

They definitely didn’t give us a preview of a remastered Superman: TAS on the Man of Tomorrow BD!

I’m looking forward to it. I have to admit to having seen very, very little of S:TAS during its original run, and I never bought any of the DVDs.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

I have the complete series DVD set. Haven’t watched much of it, and I never really watched much of the show when I was younger. Probably not one I’ll rush to grab, but maybe when it goes on sale I’ll get it.

Batman: A Death in the Family comes out on Tuesday (October 13th). Kind of looking forward to it and seeing how the interactive feature works.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

I watched my rental of Superman Man of Tomorrow last night.

It was okay. I wasn't really a fan of the animation style. They tried to be different from so many Superman origin stories, so I appreciated that aspect.

I thought it was great, especially the animation.

read a review that while it works, most branches you choose come to 30-40 minutes. How’s that possible? Linear is 86, so why would choices make it that short. Saw the review at Blu-ray.com.

That is their new animation standard going forward. Expect most future DC releases to use that style.

There's 86 minutes of footage total. Depending on the choices you make, you'll only see about 30 of those minutes. There's no 86 minute version of the movie.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

Yes, there is. You can play it as 1 86 minute linear structured movie. At least that’s what digital copy is. No choices in digital, but I assume you can still watch the linear 86 minute on actual Blu-ray. Would it be good to watch Under the Red Hood first? I might have seen it, but vague recollection of what it was about...

I'm surprised there's no store exclusive for Death in the Family. Such an easy movie for stores to have done a steelbook, have a Jason Todd Robin action figure or include the graphic novel with it collecting the 4 issue story.

I think the pandemic has something to do with why there is no store exclusive this time. They even canceled the UHD, though I believe that was due to the lack of authoring tools for the seamless branching interactivity. Some of the paths come off more like a fancy motion comic than regular animation. A couple paths feature heavy narration.
