What's up with Superman wearing the shades?
Is this just two parts or is there going to be a third? Kind of feels like The Reign of the Supermen portion could be its own film followed by a third where it wraps up that story along with Superman’s return and the final battle with Doomsday. Feels like kind of a lot of story to cram into one movie. I think there’s like four or five trades worth of material from the Death of Superman run and I believe like two or three are just the Reign parts.

Did anyone actually see the 4K version of Constantine: City of Demons today?

Just two I believe. Will probably be repackaged together like The Dark Knight Returns as well.

It's been awhile but wasn't there 4 story arcs? The Death of Superman, Funeral for a Friend, Reign of the Supermen and Return of Superman. I'm kind of iffy on that last arc title but I think there were four.

WB has had massive problems in the past two weeks with their pressing facility. Dwindling media sales led to the closure of one Blu-ray plant this year, but it's a disaster for capacity during the high-volume 4th quarter.

Even review copies were sent out very late.

Target put some copies out tonight which I snagged one of. Seems like retailers are also getting lazy putting stuff out. Local WM just put out some releases from last May.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

^So from someone who doesn’t follow comics too closely let me get this straight:

Superman in street clothes + glasses = Clark Kent
Superman in Superman clothes - glasses = Superman
Superman in Superman clothes + glasses = Eradicator

Makes sense.

Yeah, it’s actually a pretty long arc. That’s why I was saying I could see doing at least three films to do the entire story justice. My guess though is they don’t think they can do an entire film without Superman and so are just going to shorten up the Reign of the Supermen arc.

According to those special features, Justice League vs. The Fatal Five is up after that.

The Ultra HD Blu-ray release will have Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos -- two firsts for DC.

These are all upscales so I don't know how much Dolby Vision is going to help. Constantine looked slightly better on UHD from HDR.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

Where does Constantine City of Demons fit into all of this? I know he was in the Justice League Dark movie, so is this some sort of side story of his that didn't fit in with the rest of their animated universe?

Fingers crossed. I didn’t want to gamble on a 2 film set being released so I bought the steel of Death of Superman instead. I’ll be peeved if they don’t release of steel of Reign to go with it.

I believe it’s tied into the Arrowverse, not the Animated films.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

WTF is Arrowverse? I'll have to look into that. Has anyone watched it yet and could chime in on the quality? I thought his character was one of the best things about Justice League Dark, so I was hoping for more of that.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

Based on whose comments you read or listen to City of Demons is either and extension of Justice League Dark or what Constantine was doing right before the current season of Legends of Tomorrow (Arrowverse TV Series). Both could be true if they did it right.
