. All seriousness though I've always been a DCAU fanboy despite the fact that I get labeled a DC hater for not liking the shitty direction of the current live action DC films.

Watched it last night with my son (who was unfortunately sick so he couldn't go to daycare)...we enjoyed it. I will say it does take a little while to get going but once it kicks it up, it doesn't stop until the final frame. Nightwing is really the star of this sucker (they did go out of their way to try and make Starfire the star but it never quite felt like it) and certainly not "Overrated" as Deathstroke said in one spot. Good stuff, I'd go 3.5 with a lean of 4 out of 5.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films
The live-action films are always compared to Marvel's current output. The animated films have no competition from Marvel, as that company's animated films have either been kiddie fare or terrible.
I liked The Judas Contract, I didn't love it. It's hard going wild over something where I already knew the plot twists in advance. It does happen to be the longest animated DC feature yet at 84 minutes. They probably went overboard on the innuendo between Starfire and Nightwing. I liked their version of Beast Boy, which can be an annoying character in the wrong hands.
I've seen some speculate that the opening scene introducing Starfire to the team was taken from an earlier script and a very different Teen Titans flick than what we got. It really didn't need to be included in the Judas Contract.

In some ways actually it's surprising to me that Marvel doesn't have a better animation division now that they're part of the Disney family. They have good kid geared shows but that's about all. Actually it's kind of funny how some of the best animated Marvel (their 90s tv shows) were done by a division of Disney before they were the owners of Marvel. I guess the MCU is successful enough it's not necessarily needed but it would be a nice addition to have animated films and shows in the same vein as the DCAU.

If anyone needs screenshots for The Judas Contract, here they are.

It looks like the Wonder Woman re-release isn't rated R after all. There is a steelbook version though.

Yeah, it's the same movie with maybe a few extra features and a digital copy. I never got around to getting it the first time, so I'll probably pick up the steelbook. I also skipped Caped Crusaders since it's not really part of the same universe and I know I'd never watch it. I rented it from the library and once was enough for me.

So this is the same animated movie as this ?:

It has a different name, which is very confusing.
Even though I collect Target's DCU Steelbooks, I wouldn't re-buy this title. I like that Graphic novel version just fine.

All that said, the Wonder Woman animated movie pretty great, so I'd recommend this new release to anyone that doesn't have it.

Ah, I see. Guess I didn't realize because I just looked at the book cover.
So this is coming out on 5/16/17. I suppose it doesn't count towards the quarterly release of DCU Steelbooks. I imagine that Batman & Harley Quinn will be the next one and come out in July?

I think I'll end up getting the new Steelbook for Wonder Woman. Of course I would have recently just bought the original release. I like the DCAU Steelbooks though. Kind of wish I had gotten all of them.

I've collected all the steelbooks so far and honestly it's starting to feel like an OCD curse. I never picked up the original Wonder Woman but I hate buying a more expensive version of the same movie simply for different packaging.
Fuck it. I've come this far, I might as well continue buying them...

Eh, this is my favorite movie in DCU, even one fav of all time, but I got the previous, have the digital. I think I'm good. Think. Maybe the new extras, if any, will be substantial...

I think I still have a Windows Media copy of the Wonder Woman movie on a backup drive.
Maybe I'll do a VUDU conversion.

I think my favorites are:
Batman: Under the Red Hood
Superman/Batman: Public Enemies
Superman/Batman: Apocalypse
Justice League: Doom
Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox
I also liked The Killing Joke a lot and don't get why people seem to dislike it so much.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films
The ones I don't care for as much are the New 52 inspired ones like Justice League: War and Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. Even the Batman ones aren't the best: Son of Batman, Batman vs. Robin, and Batman: Bad Blood aren't the best.
