What's up with no replacements after 10/31? I get that AB doesn't want this to go on forever, but what if this set was a Christmas gift or something? I was on the fence about this set, but now I definitely won't pick one up if there isn't a good price before the deadline.

If I'm reading the wording of it correctly, if you want your replacement disc to be sent among the first batch of replacements, they need to be sent in by that date. They are probably doing replacements in timed batches, so they don't have to mail out random numbers each day/every day.

Halloween 4: Audio Sync Issue
On behalf of Anchor Bay and Scream Factory, we want to thank everyone that has purchased the Halloween Complete Collection. We hope you are enjoying it and all the work that went into bringing it to you, the fans. Unfortunately there is an audio sync issue with Halloween 4 that has always existed on that film with every release. We attempted to fix one of the problems prior to this release but in doing so, it created sync issues elsewhere in the film, which has now come to light. For the past two weeks we have been working to fix the problems that have arisen and we have been able to fix the sync issues at the 46 minute mark. We will be issuing a replacement disc to anyone that has been affected.
If you were affected by a Halloween 4 sync issue and would like a replacement disc sent to you, please follow these instructions:
In order to receive a replacement with the first batch being sent, send an e-mail to [email protected] no later than October 31, 2014 and include the following:
1) Proof of purchase (photo or scan of receipt or digital receipt from on-line retailer)
2) Your name
3) Mailing address
Your replacement disc will then be shipped to arrive no later than November 14, 2014.
Thank you again for bringing Michael home.

Re: Halloween: The Complete Collection is coming to blu-ray
Just curious, but is the individual release of Halloween 4 effected by this audio sync issue too, or is it just the ones from the box set?

I've sent in my request for a replacement Halloween 4, is it normal to *not* get a confirmation e-mail? I'm trusting they got my e-mail. Is this normal?

Anchor Bay says all home video releases of this movie have the issue, but some users say it's more noticeable on the new boxset version.

I never noticed it on my original H4 and not bothering checking the box one [waiting for exchange]. anyway watched H5 [from box] last night and noticed audio sync issue on it, never noticed it on my original 5 release.

I don't think anybody has complained about an audio issue with H5 yet...

I sent an e-mail to the Anchor Bay address that was provided. I just included a Jpeg screen grab of my Amazon.com receipt.
Despite the audio issue and some minor nit picks here and there, I think this is a pretty solid set overall. I just wish they would have created a more comprehensive documentary on the overall series like what Friday the 13th has. Sure, there are a few 30-45 minute featurettes on some of the movies, but I would like something more detailed like the Crystal Lake Memories documentary.
BTW, how many here who ordered that still haven't watched it yet? I mean 7 hours is a lot of time huh?

You won't be seeing documentaries longer than 30 minutes on most home video releases these days, as bonus features. It triggers extra royalties, so a comprehensive documentary of that length basically has to be its own release.

Kudos to them for not making us mail in the disc we have...that always drives me nuts - got to find something to mail it in, got to drive to the post office, etc. Then you're stuck without a disc for "x" number of days.

I was wondering this too. I sent my request out yesterday mid-afternoon and have not heard anything back. Maybe they'll start sending out confirmation e-mails once the deadline hits?

I just checked my box set copy of Halloween 4 and didn't notice a audio-sync issue. It's suppose to be present around the 45-minute mark, right? I saw someone above mention a sync issue with Halloween 5 as well. What's the timestamp for that issue (not like I'm actually going to watch Halloween 5 again)?

Re: Halloween: The Complete Collection is coming to blu-ray
Putting aside all the technical issues, what does everyone think of the set? Have you enjoyed revisiting the films (or more accurately SOME of them?)
For me, I already owned both versions of Halloween on Blu ray (without the mono track, of course) plus the 30th anniversary version of Halloween II (with Terror in the Aisles) and the Scream factory versions of Halloween II and III. So, nothing really new there. I just have a lot of duplicate movies as far as that goes.
Halloween 4 really didn't do much for me, but it's not terrible. Halloween 5? Terrible. Halloween: The Curse of Michael Meyers is also horrible and the long sought after producers cut really didn't improve it much at all. *sigh* (But, it was an interesting curiosity.)
One of the things I was really looking forward to in this set was the new, spiffy Halloween: H20. And I was not disappointed. Great hour long documentary, great audio commentary and FINALLY an American release of the film is both anamorphic *and* in the proper aspect ratio. (It's only taken 16 years for that to happen!) So, as strange as that sounds, it was the highlight of the set for me.
Halloween: Resurrection is the Star Trek: Nemesis of the Halloween franchise and it's only opening act with Jamie Lee Curtis is the only thing compelling about the movie. The rest is a dull, generic slasher film with no one really to root for. (I couldn't give a crap about in terms of the technical aspects of the disc)
And we get to Rob Zombie's "contribution" to the Halloween franchise. He can have that contribution back as far as I'm concerned. It's all shot in "Redneck Grime-O-Vision" and I couldn't even make myself sit down and watch either of them (I skipped around on the discs). He took a movie about a deranged psychopath murdering innocent people and turned into stomach churningly unpleasant--go figure. :P (Again the discs are jam packed with extras I couldn't give a rat's ass about)
Finally, the final disc has some nifty features including "Halloween Unmasked" which is one of my favorite special features from the DVD's of yore. I'm glad it was included in this set.
I don't know if it was worth the price tag ultimately, and I would've preferred they could've just released the spruced H20 separately, but I guess I can always sell the individual copies of Halloween I, II, and III I already own.
All in all, I've spent 90 dollars on worse, I guess.

When I realized the main reason I wanted the set was to get that bitchin' outer box with the awesome artwork I decided I'd hold off on buying it.
I already have the first one one Blu-Ray and it looks fantastic. I wouldn't mind owning part 2 on Blu but not enough to buy an entire box set for it. The rest of the film's will be a "watch one time only" deal so I'm not in any hurry to pick this up.
I'll pick this up when I see it for a really good price but I'm slightly worried that this set will go OOP before it hits a decent price. Once it's going for ridiculous money on eBay I know I'll never pick it up.

I likely won't be getting this set, but I do have all the movies on other formats (mainly regular DVD, except Curse of Michael Myers on laserdisc as it wasn't on DVD when I bought it) and have been re-watching them this month. 4 though 6 are bad just because they're shot in 1.85. Whose bright idea was that, as the 2.35 ratio was a trademark of the first ones?
5 is ESPECIALLY bad because of the "comedy" music score that plays when the "stupid" cops show up. This is NOT a comedy movie series, although it has some moments you can laugh at. That music score just killed any mood this film could have had (and there's already a rather long imdb post that agrees with me), and along with the 1.85 ratio makes me label it as CRAP as far as the Halloween series goes. Had they just made it as its own movie not as a sequel to anything else then it would just be another crappy movie, but as part of Halloween it's a complete joke.
I've always liked II, but just WHY is that hospital so EMPTY? It's like they had NO patients aside from Jamie Lee, and the injured kid who comes in briefly.

Having never owned any of the films on DVD or Blu-ray, this was a no-brainer for me. I always meant to getting around to picking up the movies, but the first one is always on TV in October that I just held off.

I sent my email for the replacement disc. I appreciate that they're doing this and really like the fact that we don't have to mail in a disc to get the replacement, unlike what Criterion asks people to do. I certainly understand why Criterion wants you to send the disc, but it's not exactly convenient (and ends up costing its customers more money).
