Re: Man Of Steel

My Target had them in the spider wraps, but I found an employee stock cart nearby with plenty of copies not wrapped up.

I must shop in a swanky area - they were all out loose in a cardboard standee near the registers.

Re: Man Of Steel

Target "Book" for $19.99.

Watched the movie last night and this morning:
1. Love the VQ in the movie and in the Special Features (Special Features VQ made me feel like do we really need 4K?)
2. Still love the younger Clark seems (Flash backs are ways they can bring back Pa Kent)
-Lots of ways to explorer Clark's childhood
3. Special Features were very good, I must be getting to use to the extras...need more to wow me now. Strange to have a Hobbit Feature in the Superman movie.
4. Still cringed with a the Death and Destruction in the City Fight, but I guess that is what would happen if two supes fought it out to the death in a big city.
5. Sound was powerful, had to keep lower it so my wife would not get irritated.

Really happy to add this to my collection.

Re: Man Of Steel

I mentioned it in the deals thread, but figured I would put it here too. I was lucky enough to still grab an LE at my Wal-Mart last night. Was surprised to find 2 still in stock and the price still not fixed (it rang up $27.99 at my store). As of last night, there was still 1 at the Plymouth, WI store if anyone local still needs it. The ones in my store were not located with the rest of the movies, but rather sitting on the employee counter by the cell phones and other small electronics. So if you don't see it, look around the area and you may still get lucky.

The tin packaging is very cool...and even cooler because of the stand. It's magnetic...wasn't expecting that! Unfortunately the cardboard fold-out disc holder fits loosely in the tin, so at least on mine the corners were all dinged up, but oh well. Great set over-all.

Re: Man Of Steel

really nice LE set. nice magnetic stand. didn't know it was #'d, but too bad it isn't on the actual tin and merely on the plastic packaging (which i threw away).

Re: Man Of Steel

Is there any particular reason why there's a Hobbit featurette on my Man of Steel BD?

Re: Man Of Steel

The best part of the blu-ray was that they included the 75th Anniversary annimated short in the extras. Love it.

Re: Man Of Steel

Yeah. It's pretty badass. From the Walmart features and the normal features, I'm not really impressed feature wise. I like the music bit. That's a good one. The movie feature thing. Is that any good?

Re: Man Of Steel

The rest of the features are ok, the best one I think is the one on the actor's training regime. Holy shit does Antje Traue have a hell of a body! (that's what I took away from it anyways)

I honestly dislike Maximum Movie Mode. I either want to watch the movie or watch how it was made. I have no interest in both at the same time. So it sucks to not be able to watch the focus points seperately of that annoying feature. At least there are chapter breaks and I was able to skim towards some interesting anecdotes.

Re: Man Of Steel

I like what MMM could be but honestly it's a good idea that isn't executed to great quality.

I think I remember liking Watchmen's MMM. 300's as well. But maybe I'm just remembering the features being played with the films.

I know if GDT did one for Pacific Rim, it'd be awesome.

Re: Man Of Steel

Apparently the Region A Blu-Ray version of Carpenter's The Thing actually made the Terror Takes Shape documentary into a picture-in-picture type thing, and you couldn't watch it separately. That's annoying.

Re: Man Of Steel

old news...but yeah. To make it worse it's not even as good as it could look either. Not sure on the sound but I can't imagine it to be bad.

I guess that other regions didn't do that, so I could buy one of those or just hang onto my SE DVD.

There were a couple of other minor extras on the US SE, I don't know if they got ported over to the BR or not. And apparently the original non-anamorphic edition had an isolated musical score.

Is it wrong that I fast forwarded through any footage that was not of her while watching that special feature?
