Man Of Steel

Well that was fast.

Amazon France already has the Man of Steel Limited Edition Home Entertainment box set listed.

The Limited Edition set comes with the DVD, BluRay, BluRay 3D and a Collector's Statue 134.99 Euros. Also listed is the set without the statue for 34.99 Euros. At one point, it showed it was available in October, but that has been removed and now just says "Available Soon."

What version of the Home Entertainment release do want to get?

(If you have pre-ordered the DVD/ BluRay through Walmart, it lists a release date of Nov 1 on the pre-order link.)

Thought this was news on the release I'd be buying here. I'll just see my way out.

Re: Man Of Steel

God forbid a thread title would contain useful information on what the thread is about. But at least we now know that "Man of Steel" will eventually, at some undetermined date, be released on home video in France.

They should've just gone direct-to-DVD in the first place.

Iron Man 3 is getting a Steelbook in the UK, so this one should get an IronPak.

Re: Man Of Steel

I think we may get a few different releases of this with different artwork. I could see Target and Best Buy having exclusive bonus discs with different artwork, etc.

I agree. It must be a gift you give to someone you dislike. Sort of like a fruitcake during Christmas.

Re: Man Of Steel

I love how the gift set doesn't even come with the 3D version. So you're spending an extra $29 for two ugly little figures.

Re: Man Of Steel

I'll pick up the regular combo when it get's to $9.99 during the next Best Buy U&S sale. $5 is all it's really worth to me.

Re: Man Of Steel

I saw the 3D version in theaters and didn't think it was worth it. I'll opt for the regular combo pack. I might even spring for the ugly figures.

The Walmart/Vudu pre-order had a date of 11/1 originally. I'm glad it's moved to 10/15.

Also, separate BD for extras.

Re: Man Of Steel

Since it is a huge Warner Bros movie the price should drop.

I hope it is $19.99 for the combo during release week and not $22.99 or $24.99 which seems the standard price for all Warner Bros combo pack new releases.

I get those gift sets will end up as dead inventory.

Let me guess...the 3-D version will have more extras?

Not unless you count the 3D version of the movie as an extra.

Re: Man Of Steel

If its $19.99 release week I'll probably get it. I liked it enough and think it has decent replay value.

As it stands now, there will be in terms of non-retailer exclusives:
  1. 2D Combo Pack (Blu-ray 2D + Blu-ray bonus features disc + DVD + UV)
  2. 3D Combo Pack (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray 2D + Blu-ray bonus features disc + DVD + UV)
I'm sure there will be retailer exclusives galore as we've seen so far with Amazon including a movie-only disc with the 2D Blu-ray and nothing else a la The Dark Knight Rises and other Warner titles.
