Looking at this weeks ad, it looks like the digibook isn't the 3D combo.

What streaming service does Target have, if any?

Nice, I think the Target digibook is the version I'm going for. The one special type of packaging that I'm a sucker for and the price isn't bad.

The Target Cartwheel app has MOS on it also so you can take 10% off your purchase.

According to the Walmart ad, the steelbook package includes the 3D version and will be $24.96. I think that's the version I'm getting.

For those who have a Fry's close to them, they send out a weekly ad what has promo codes. This week has MOS for $14.99, in-store only. This is for the Blu/DVD/UV set.

Does the movie coming in a steel or digibook make it suck any less? I haven't decided which to get yet.

It's apparently a misprint. The version showed in the picture is the same non-3D steelbook that they're selling on the website.

So I guess because of the misprint in the ad, they have the Limited Collector's Edition 3D for $24.96 in stores. My store only had 3 this morning, so grab one early. Good luck.

Thanks! Rushed to my nearest Walmart. They had only one of these and it was just then being put on the floor. Rang up $24.96.

Hit the Target in North Hollywood on my way to work. They had about 16 Digibooks in the electronics section. My total came out to be $13.35 with the Cartwheel coupon and $6 I had left on a gift card.

Book looks really nice. Love the lenticular cover! Can't wait to watch it tonight.

So do you need a code to get that price?

Got the Target digibook and was a little disappointed to find out the book is just excerpts from an actual book (this one) but still like it overall.
I heard word that the Walmart steelbook has its own special feature(s), is that true?

joltman 11-12-13 01:16 PM

Re: Man Of Steel

Yea, I finally found it, the Walmart exclusive special features are The Sonic Landscape of Man of Steel (12:49) and The Iconic Characters of Man of Steel (18:57)

Yes you do. According to the ad I got, each promo code is unique. I already used it, but if you're interested in trying to use it, shoot me a pm and I can email the ad to you.

I hate when they do this shit.

Is it a bonus disc or is it included on the main feature disc like the Argo Target Exclusive?

Maxflier 11-12-13 01:49 PM

Re: Man Of Steel

It must be on the main feature disc because there is no extra disc packed in.
My store still had all 3 copies of the L.E. but I went with the steelbook instead. The steelbook is pretty basic, no embossing or anything.

Just received the CE from Amazon. Good God, this thing is huge. I thought it was just going to be about the same size as the TDK and Iron Man "masks" special editions but I was mistaken. Too bad it didn't arrive yesterday.

How are your discs? All 4 of mine are scratched.

Did everything with this release have to be big? The Target digibook is thicker than two standard Blu-ray cases.

True, but on the upside, the larger size meant they had to go into bigger security cases so they didn't get crushed to all hell.

True that! My Target had about 85% of them in those tied up wire things that dig into the case. There were a couple in huge security cases, though, and I grabbed one of those.

My Target had them in the spider wraps, but I found an employee stock cart nearby with plenty of copies not wrapped up.

I must shop in a swanky area - they were all out loose in a cardboard standee near the registers.

Target "Book" for $19.99.

Watched the movie last night and this morning:
1. Love the VQ in the movie and in the Special Features (Special Features VQ made me feel like do we really need 4K?)
2. Still love the younger Clark seems (Flash backs are ways they can bring back Pa Kent)
-Lots of ways to explorer Clark's childhood
3. Special Features were very good, I must be getting to use to the extras...need more to wow me now. Strange to have a Hobbit Feature in the Superman movie.
4. Still cringed with a the Death and Destruction in the City Fight, but I guess that is what would happen if two supes fought it out to the death in a big city.
5. Sound was powerful, had to keep lower it so my wife would not get irritated.

Really happy to add this to my collection.

Was a pain in the ass to find at target, as there were no copies of the digibook out in the open. i had to ask someone & there was one on a Man o Steel display

Re: Man Of Steel

I mentioned it in the deals thread, but figured I would put it here too. I was lucky enough to still grab an LE at my Wal-Mart last night. Was surprised to find 2 still in stock and the price still not fixed (it rang up $27.99 at my store). As of last night, there was still 1 at the Plymouth, WI store if anyone local still needs it. The ones in my store were not located with the rest of the movies, but rather sitting on the employee counter by the cell phones and other small electronics. So if you don't see it, look around the area and you may still get lucky.

The tin packaging is very cool...and even cooler because of the stand. It's magnetic...wasn't expecting that! :) Unfortunately the cardboard fold-out disc holder fits loosely in the tin, so at least on mine the corners were all dinged up, but oh well. Great set over-all.

the Rockville Maryland location all the digi's weren't in spiderwraps in the 'entertainment' section, saw none at the registers.

OldBoy 11-14-13 04:09 PM

really nice LE set. nice magnetic stand. didn't know it was #'d, but too bad it isn't on the actual tin and merely on the plastic packaging (which i threw away).
