Re: Man Of Steel
The Journey of Discovery documentary sounds interesting. Especially since its feature length.

Re: Man Of Steel
Journey of sounds like (& probably is) a Warner Maximum Movie mode feature

Re: Man Of Steel
That's what I thought as well. A form of it.

The 2D cover is classy. The 3D cover is lazy.

Re: Man Of Steel
I hope Target cover is better, not too crazy about those above.. Well the 2D its well done just too similar to my Superman Anthology box set

Re: Man Of Steel
I like both.

Re: Man Of Steel
Looking forward to this one.
They really did put the Super in the Man this time. Bring on "The World's Finest", then JLA Part 1 and 2 (JLA filmed at the same time). -Darseid would be the bad guy in the background for WF -JLA Part 1: Heroes gather for the attack of Darkseid (would be cool if Darkseid takes Superman and brainwashes him, so the JL would have to battle him the beginning of JL Part 2) -JLA Part 2: Darkseid attacks, big battles and Batman helps JL outsmart Darkseid which causes him to retreat. |
Re: Man Of Steel
It'd have to be really clever writing to make people not role their eyes too much for how smart Bats is against superpowered people.

Re: Man Of Steel
The artwork is really really bad!!
I thought the artwork for the Amazon preorder was the artwork and I would have preferred that over what they chose. |
Re: Man Of Steel
Just tack that "3D" on there like a dingleberry. Nailed it, Art Department.

Looks like Wal Mart will be getting a steelbook. Doesn't look like it's going to include the 3D version though.

Re: Man Of Steel
Why do they need Superman flying in the middle of the S for the Blu-ray combo?

Re: Man Of Steel
The DVD and steelbook covers are a lot better.
Wonder what Target will offer. If you pre-order the Steelbook at Wal-Mart will you get credit like you do at Amazon when the sale price drops during the release day? |

I don't know if I can think of an imagine in the film that would be interesting enough to make a good cover, to be honest.

Re: Man Of Steel
There's a rarity now a days, a DVD version that will retain most of the special features as the blu ray version (it prob won't have the Maximum movie mode) but there is a disc 2

Re: Man Of Steel
I may have to get the digibook. But it'll probably be at Target.com. I expect all the stores here to cram them in the security cases or spider wrap.

Odd, given that the director had done one for Watchmen, I believe.
But I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a MMM. Warner's releases of late have been lacking in the features department. |

Re: Man Of Steel
What? I never saw any consistency with the Maximum Movie Mode. Just the ones mentioned along with Terminator Salvation on Warner titles. It definitely wasn't a common feature, and I doubt it's lack of it on the Superman set is due to the so called death of physical media. I'd anticipate it as more of a preemptive move for the inevitable double dip.

Re: Man Of Steel
Well at least release prices are dropping fast and low as well. I'd accept less special features if I still get excellent AQ and PQ at a reasonable price. Downloads don't offer that, as far as I'm concerned. The actual $ amount might be relatively low but I've not been remotely impressed by the video quality of downloadable media. And, as far as I know, lossless audio would be out of the question in such a scenario.

Re: Man Of Steel
Watchmen and Sucker Punch both got director's cuts as well, and Man of Steel so far has not.
