It's a tin case sure, but I think the packaging and extras are pretty solid.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

I like the packaging for the most part. But what I can't understand is why the title isn't anywhere on the spine. Both sides of the spine are completly blank. It might be the only thing I have in my collection that has no title on the spine.

I was reluctant but couldn't help but bite at that price.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

It was briefly available from WBshop at a cheaper price this past Christmas season. Amazon rarely sells something at their cost, I imagine it will get cheaper from someone else.

It's a Warner release; the odds are high it'll be cheaper within the next few months.

Once it drops below $50 is when I'll buy. Hell, I'd even bet Fry's will hit that price point sooner than Amazon or others.

Yeah, right after I typed that I remembered paying full price for the Nightmare box set and its now like $25.

I'll keep my eye open for another price drop. In the meantime, my DVD set will have to do. I'm holding out for another Chucky set drop. It's down to $40 now.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

Used a $25 Best Buy GC today and picked this up for $48 after tax.

If I manage to sell the UV code, it will drop my out of pocket cost some more.

Now I'm not sure whether or not I should keep my Paramount Deluxe edition DVDs or get rid of them.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

If you have a Columbia House account, you can pick this up for approximately $34 shipped if you act quickly. The set is listed at $77.97 currently, with a limited 20% off everything promotion. The promo code memberschoice50 is a 50% off code (not sure of expiration date) and combines with the other discount. $2.99 shipping for the set and the total comes to $34.18 for me. I picked this up and thought some who have a CH account might be interested.

I might have to look into that deal. I have a Columbia House account still open but hardly ever use it. I do want the set but $50 or less is where I want to be with it.

Just know that the 20% off part of the deal is now 15% today as part of an overall weekend sale. So to save the most money, you'd want to pull the trigger soon.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

36.12 for me. I guess I kept my CH account open for the past five years for just such an occasion
This has been in my "hmm, I'd like to pick that up sometime" list, but definitely below $50.
Thanks for the pointer and the code.

I'd pay $13 for someone's UV code from this set. What other number did you expect?

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

Anyone buy that replacement case that was selling on ebay?

Also anyone remember the search term to find it because I apparently cannot.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

Warner has held the price on this set much longer than I anticipated. The licensing fees for the films they don't own must have been horrendous.

i'm sure this is discussed somewhere, but is the 2009 remake the "Killer Cut" or TC?

Same disc as previously released, it has both cuts.

This is the lowest its been retail wise. I'm tempted for that price but I'm still holding out for sub-$50.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

I've been holding off on this for a long time and was pricing it today but can't believe how expensive it still is. Amazon doesn't even have it in stock other than from third party sellers and most places want $100 or more for it. The best deal seems to be from Columbia House who have it for around $77 plus shipping but I don't really buy from there anymore.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

Seems weird if it's already out of print. With Warner distributing all of Paramount's home video titles now and owning New Line, I wouldn't think that's the reason. Probably just in short supply right now.
