I pre-ordered the 3D release sans phaser.

Not my favorite Star Trek film but I'm a completist so I'll order it. The phaser set is almost tempting but not sure if I want to spend that amount for it.

Will just get the regular 2D edition more closer to release time. No rush to pre-order it.

You realize that Amazon does offer a price matching guarantee if they drop the price, right? That guarantee also covers drops on the day of release.

I placed a pre-order for the 3D combo pack at $24.99. Best case scenario, Best Buy or Target offer it for cheaper price and Amazon matches. Worst case scenario, I cancel the pre-order based upon retail exclusives.

I doubt it's a real phaser. That would be dangerous, plus they haven't been invented yet.

I checked my sources inside my head - this thing really shoots. So please take caution.

I know they lower it but all the things I've watched end up being cheaper on release day, including amazon dropping the price which is one of the reasons they only match up to that point and then stop.

If they match Target, I can use the Target card and get it for 5% off. I have a bunch of BB gift cards I can use there. Wal-Mart occasionally shows up with something but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I don't know. There's a picture of it and it looks like it's really there and not some sort of hologram.

Best Buy also has their preorder up, which includes getting movie money to see it in theaters

$19.99 for the 2D combo pack and $24.99 for the 3D version are pretty low. Most releases lately have been debuting at $22.99.

I'll definitely get this, but I'll wait to see what other offers show up.

Screw a hologram. I want a Holodeck as a pre-order bonus. And given how accelerated things seem to be in the AU, I fully expect a Holodeck to appear in the next movie, if not the deleted scenes for this one.

This featured a 7.1 audio mix so it should sound great on BD.
