^ Mine was canceled. As was my Brave DigiBook. Had to schlep-to-store both times.

I'm happy I have late-ish classes on Tuesdays.

Going to get up early and hope my local Target has some Steelbooks on the shelves!

Yeah, I've got a Target that's a little out of my way to work, but not bad. I may even get a couple to see if I can pay for them both by selling one. $23 according to the ad.

Well shit - so both Best Buy and Target have exclusives? Best Buy with a digibook with 30 minutes of exclusive content, while Target has a steelbook with 50 minutes of exclusive content. Does anyone know if the content is duplicated on the Target one? I'll guess not since that won't make it exclusive.

The Wal-Mart version also contains exclusive content.

Looks like instead of putting out a special edition of Django Unchained, they're splitting the special features across three store exclusive editions.

I'm seriously thinking about boycotting this release.

If they want to do store exclusive packaging, fine. Steelbooks, digipaks, exclusive cover art, whatever. But spreading bonus content around different releases like this is bullshit.

It's not like they're making you buy all 3. Pick one and go with it, end of story.

Ugh, a digipack is incentive for me to NOT buy the exclusive from Best Buy. Hopefully I can score a copy at Target but I don't hold out much hope because don't they usually get like 3 copies?

Wow, that's pretty stupid for them to do.

True.

I think the Target steel book has the best artwork so far.

If there was a digibook available I'd buy that. As it stands I'll probably just pick up the steelbook.

The Target ad says "bonus" content. The BB ad says "exclusive" content.

I was in Target on release day for Les Mis and I didn't see the exclusive edition at all. In fact, all the blu rays were sold out leaving only the dvd releases left. I still have not seen what that package looks like and what the exclusive content was. I haven't seen the film either yet. But I love glancing at the new releases just to see what they're like and reminding myself to eventually see whatever film looks interesting.

I was lucky to grab The Dark Knight Rises digibook on release day though, since I found the one copy left hidden away on a shelf that was blocked by another display.

I'm not sure whether I'll buy this film yet or not. I was mixed on it seeing it in theaters. But sometimes Tarantino films need a second viewing to truly appreciate. I've come around on Death Proof for example, though I still stand by my opinion that the extended version of that film sucks, but the shorter version is well done, but still one of his lesser films.

The Target version includes "The Stars of Django Unchained Unleashed at Comicon 2012" as a store exclusive.

The Wal-Mart version includes the documentary "Re-Imagining the Spaghetti-Western: A Making-Of Documentary" as a store exclusive.

The Best Buy version includes "Around the Globe with Django Unchained: Conversations with the Filmmakers and Cast" as a store exclusive.

Same here. I always go for substance over style.

He's right, though; it is bullshit. This release basically sucks in terms of bonus features. I loved the movie and want whatever I can get on it, so spreading out features is fucking lame.

Re: Django Unchained -- 4/16/13

I dunno - the Walmart exclusive feature sounds the best. Depends on length. I pre-ordered the Target release online (no Targets in Vermont) for $26.99. Will they lower the price for me if it changes on release week? Or do I have to call and bitch?
