plus that almost 4-hour making of feature included in the 3D set. I would imagine if a bigger, better version was in the works, that feature would have been held for it

FWIW, the extended cut of Gladiator was nothing more than the deleted scenes re-inserted. Still something worth watching, but nonetheless didn't give us anything we hadn't already seen. Kingdom of Heaven on the other hand was entirely new stuff and gave us a whole new movie. I think if Scott is giving us these scenes up front, it means he didn't think they would make any major impact.

I actually think the extended cut added more life into that film. Were they needed? probably not but..gave it more life for some of those characters.

He could have, but where's the motivation in that? There's $$$ to be made and if he does reinsert them into a director's cut I'll be the first to give him my money yet again.

It's all business.

37 min. might sound like a lot, but we also have no idea how much he actually cut from the film. I would find it hard to believe he'd assemble a DC for Kingdom of Heaven or Robin Hood (both critically and financially less successful than Prometheus) and not do one here.

If you haven't seen the leaked deleted scenes, you should check them out on the blu-ray; they most definitely add things, significant things.

I wonder if them not being in a director's cut is if there are some issue with story in regards to a sequel.

My local Walmart had the 3D version tagged at $29.96, but it rings up $24.96. They also have an exclusive BD only version for $19.96.

Interesting. Does it have all the special features of the 4-disc 3D version?

My Target did not have the Target exclusive booklet included with the 4-disc set - only the 2-disc set :( Was this only included in the 2-disc set or did my Target perhaps just not get stock of the 4-disc set w/booklet?

I'm guessing it'll be just the movie and deleted scenes just like the DVD release.

And just thinking how it odd it is for them to put the documentary on the 3D bundle and not 2D one - I wouldn't be surprised if studios started to to do this with more regularity. It's a double edged sword if you hate 3D, but love special features.

Just the first disc in the set. The artwork is the same as the regular DVD version.

If your code doesn't work, then email Fox and they'll probably give you a new code.

Disney has done it a couple of times. Not really odd at all if you think about it; it acts as an incentive for people to buy the higher-priced version, even if they don't have a 3D TV.

That's what I'm saying. It's the $$$ factor.

Can both the Ultraviolet AND the Digital Copy be redeemed? or do you have to pick just one?

i just called the CS line. they got it to work:
1. put disc in.
2. go to start button and my computer.
3. double click on the DVD drive.
4. wait til "Watch anytime, anywhere" screen pops up.
5. hit digital copy (iTunes) on bottom.
6. put in your original code and check the "I agree" button
7. copy and paste new code into iTunes code redemption space.

just worked for me...let me know if good to go.
