Intrigued with the 10 disc set. An Avengers Vol 1 so to speak would be great.

I have all the lead-in films so the ten disc set isn't for me. 4-disc all the way.

Same here. I got Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk on DVD, but quit buying the movies in the series because I figured a set containing all of them was inevitable (plus I knew that I'd eventually get a Blu Ray player - which I now have - and wanted to avoid format double dips). So, unless there are some must-have Avengers store exclusives, I will go for the set. Just hope the price isn't ridiculous.

Disc 2: Blu-ray + bonus material.
Disc 3: DVD.
Disc 4: Digital Copy.
The Blu-ray disc is the same on both the four-disc and two-disc set, so you'll get all of the bonus material depending on what set you get.

I guess I'll wait to see how good the 3D is from the reviews.... so far I've mostly opted for Disney's non-combo packs...even if there's more "value" for the money, it doesn't make sense to spend any more for what you're not going to use.

Probably passing on the 10-discer since I have all the solos except Hulk and IM2, but it might depend on what's on the extra discs

Re: The Avengers - Sept. 25, 2012
It actually should be more than 10 if it has everything from the individual releases. Even if they dropped the DVD copies I think it would be 13 or 14 Blu-ray discs.
I'm extremely skeptical of a multi-film set though. It probably would have been officially announced alongside the individual film and all the studio stuff has to be tricky. It's one thing to secure one or two films from another studio to have a complete box (Kubrick, Rocky, Bond etc.) but it's another to expect Disney to license 4 Paramount titles and a Universal title.
Has anyone considered that the 10-disc set is coming from Paramount and doesn't actually include The Avengers? I can see them rounding up their 4 films and licensing Hulk from Universal. The disc count would make more sense that way too.

Disc 1: Blu-Ray 3D
Disc 2: Blu-Ray 2D
Disc 3: Blu-Ray Bonus Material
Disc 4: DVD Copy + Digital Copy
It wouldn't surprise me if Disney went that route.
