From HTF:
For those of you who have been patiently awaiting the December 13th Blu-ray release from Twilight Time, I have some extremely good news for you.....Fright Night looks INCREDIBLE. I have seen this film on DVD too many times to know what it has looked like. If you could have only seen my face during the first several minutes of this film...I couldn't believe what I was watching....The film no longer has an aged look with dull colors and muddy blacks. What I saw here was a total transformation where everything about the picture was now brighter, sharper and with colors that look more realistically balanced. Not a speck of dirt nor debris to be seen anywhere to make this transfer look dated. In fact, it would be very easy to mistake this as a film made within the past few years. It looks THAT amazing. The Blu-ray DTS-MA track sounds quite pleasing, although I wasn't incredibly won over by its 5.1 separation. I barely noticed the surrounds were active as the rear channels do very little other than supporting the fantastic score by Brad Fiedel. And, if you so wish, there is an isolated audio music track that enables you to sit and just enjoy that score.

Got shipping notice as well, in VA so I may get it thursday. Other reviews says it does come with an 8 page essay booklet also.

From the Twitchfilm review:
Hopefully my copy ships today as well.
Fright Night has been lovingly restored and transferred in this edition, to a state that is far beyond what attention it would have been given at its big studio home. The image is pristine, the colors are awesome, and detail is immaculate. This disc is every bit as good as Mysterious Island was, with the added advantage of not having to contend with so many in camera plate effects. I was, frankly, stunned by the sharpness of the image, but more so with the vivid color palette that is a huge leap from the ancient DVD image we're used to. The DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio track is a winner also. Fright Night was shot in Dolby stereo, but Twilight Time have released this new edition with a lossless audio track remixed to all 6 channels. Most of the action is in the front, but there is some occasional use of the surround channels that is appropriate and effective.

The good reviews for the PQ make me that much happier that I did order it. I also got a shipping notice for it, so hopefully it'll show up by this weekend...

I got a shipping notice too and now am even more thrilled after reading the snippets of the reviews. (Thanks for posting, guys.)
We just watched the remake a week ago and I nearly threw up. It just pales in comparison. Fail on so many levels...

Mine arrived today. May have to check it out over the weekend. I was quite pleased with TT's release of Mysterious Island.

The following quote is in reference to Mysterious Island, but it may be true of Fright Night as well:

Any word on how it compares to the HDTV version?

For those who'd like to listen to the commentaries while watching the movie. Pointed out on the last page of the booklet and several posts ago.

I would've liked to get this for less, or with some real special features.
However, they did a great job with the transfer so I cannot help but feel really happy with the purchase. Jerry Dandridge in crisp clear HD is all I really need. I love this movie so much.

I was also very impressed by the transfer - I've watched the 1080i HDTV file 3 or 4 times, and this was vastly superior. The soundtrack was pretty full and robust as well. I hadn't noticed before that Sarandon's dialogue isn't synched up correctly when he's confronting Charley at the upstairs window. I assume that was a looping error?
