I guess it should be noted a German region-free BD of Fright Night came out a few weeks ago (as another user above noted in July), and is pretty cheap to boot.
DVD Beaver did a comparison--slightly superior video quality compared to TT, but the tradeoff is the German BD does not have lossless audio and lacks extras.

I've actually been surprised they've maintained their pricing this long.

The thing is, they don't have competition for the titles that have, so they have no reason to price them differently, as they are the only option for eg The Blob.

Horror fans have many other Blu-ray options in 2014, especially if a person goes region-free and starts importing stuff such as Arrow Video's releases. Fans hate hearing this but one third-rate B horror title is fairly replaceable by another third-rate B horror movie. If I miss out on a Twilight Time disc, I can find ten other cheaper Scream Factory releases to tide me over.

$19.95 does seem like a more sensible price point for their releases than $29.95. That would make them about the same as Shout! Factory and probably go a long way toward quelling all the outrage they seem to receive.

But they have no incentive to do that. People are paying $30. By all accounts their business model is succeeding wildly.

Not really. Twilight Time BDs and streaming are mutually exclusive. Those who buy TT BDs have zero interest in streaming same title, those who stream a title have zero interest in buying the TT BD.
The exception would be person who buys TT BD just to own something and leaves it sealed then streams to watch the title.

If they sold a title for a lower price I'd be more inclined to buy it instead of watching it for free.
TTs model worked for a short while, even though only a few titles have been a "success". Now they have plenty of competition for horror on BD.

Don't confuse sell outs with success. Besides, the horror titles aren't the only ones that have sold out. Just look at how much the label has expanded in the few years it's been around. They've gone from releasing 1 or 2 titles a month, to releasing 5 or 6. Maybe in the long run it will be to their detriment to expand so fast, but in the short term they wouldn't be doing it if the business model wasn't proving successful. Considering the fact that the financial risk for these releases lies 100% with Twilight Time, they must be doing alright.

I'd say now's the time to dump your copies if you plan on upgrading. I listed mine on eBay for $116.99 Buy It Now and it got scooped right up. Watched it one last time last night, and I'll be upgrading to the SE in Jan.

I might see if Twilight Time offers more extras on this new edition but if not I'll probably just get the German release.
Same here. That along with Fright Night and the 1990 Night of the Living Dead are the only Twilight Time releases I've regretted not getting. Although I've heard the Night of the Living Dead disc isn't that great.

I considered that, but the German release has zero extras and lossy audio, IIRC. This new edition should, from what I've heard, feature a commentary track and possibly some new interviews. Either way, it's going to have more material than an isolated score and two trailers.

I've been hearing a rumor that in January of this next year there will be a 30th Anniversary release of Fright Night.

Based on this post, and your thread re: The Blob, I'd say it's high time you subscribe to Twilight Time's newsletter, buddy.

Re: Fright Night (1985): Twilight Time exclusive - 12/13/11
I just picked up this new 2017 BD edition of Fright Night (1985) from the UK.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fright-Nigh...ct_top?ie=UTF8
It was released by Eureka Entertainment.
Came out to roughly $13.52 after currency conversion.
It's loaded with extras. It includes the 2 hour and 26 minute cut of You're so cool Brewster: The Making of Fright Night. The original standalone cut is 4 1/2 hours long.
and there is loads of other content. Tom Holland is heavily featured on the other extras.
Also, even though the disc artwork says other wise, this disc appears to be region free. I didn't have to press the special button on my region free BD player to play Region B titles. It played right away while it was set to Region A.
So if you haven't picked this up, you might want to give this edition a look. It's very affordable unlike the Twilight Time edition from this thread.
It's also a new BD 4K transfer.
Looks like it sold really well. I pre-ordered it and it arrived in about 2 weeks. Looks like Amazon UK is sold out. It's now only available through 3rd party sellers.
