Paramount Home Entertainment will release the 3D version of Transformers: Dark of the Moon on Blu-ray next month. The third installment in director Michael Bay's successful action series follows Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf, Disturbia) as he and the Autobots make a desperate last stand against the evil Decepticons.

Returning cast members from Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen are Tyrese Gibson (Four Brothers), Josh Duhamel (Life as We Know It), and John Turturro (Miller's Crossing), and they are joined by franchise newcomers John Malkovich (Rounders), Frances McDormand (Fargo), and Alan Tudyk (Tucker & Dale vs. Evil).

Update: Paramount's Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD/UltraVioletDigital Copy combo pack presents the film in its original aspect ratio of 2.39:1 with a 7.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack.

  • Deconstructing Chicago multi-angle sequences:
- Previsualizations with optional commentary by director Michael Bay and previsualization supervisor Steve Yamamoto
- Previsualizations/Final Shot Comparison with optional commentary by director Michael Bay and previsualization supervisor Steve Yamamoto

$54.99 list price:

$38.49 at Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006JSXYPA?...89&camp=211189

This Blu-ray disc will display only in 2D without special hardware. To watch this movie in Blu-ray 3D, you will need a 3D-capable television that comes with active-shutter glasses and a 3D-capable Blu-ray player.

Nice extras but that price is pretty ridiculous, even if it hits $30.

Is there no way to use the $10 coupon at Amazon?

Some cool extras. Surprised there isn't a commentary track from Michael Bay. I actually really like listening to his tracks.

I guess the 5 part documentary sort of makes up for it.

I don't know how the hell I'm going to put that on my already crowded shelf.

Don't give a hoot about the extras, but with the $10 coupon, if it's $15 or less, I'll nab it.

If you don't care about the extras, why do you want to buy this? You might as well just enjoy the original release which is barebones. Unless you want it for the 3D disc? Besides the 3D, isn't that the whole point of this release to add the large assortment of extras? I know what's what I want.

I'll buy this eventually, but they must be high to think I'm dropping anywhere over $30 for it.

I want it for the 3D. My $10 Combo purchase netted me like $8 in profit (sold DVD and DC) plus a free 2D disc plus a $10 coupon

At limited to 5,000 with a personally "autographed" by Bay - at $104.99 should be fine

You're telling me someone made Michael Bay sit still to sign 5,000 of these? Damn, now that's a movie.

Yeah, I bet his PA signed most of those... unless he signed those over a 4 week period.

I was hoping for deleted scenes or an extended version of the movie for the 1/31 release. I'll probably just end up getting the first cheaper version now. I didn't care much for the documentaries on the other sets.

The last thing this movie needs is to be longer.

I was hoping for the Jablonsky soundtrack to be released with the new set, but nothing. So I'll opt for the barebones version. I just earned a BB $5 reward zone cert, so with the $9.99 sale on Sunday, I'm happy with it for less than $5.

Just be glad Twilight Time aren't the ones releasing the 3D edition.

I expected the score to be part of this release since Jablonsky said it was delayed in order to do something special with it to coincide with the 3D release.

Anybody have one of those $10 upgrade coupons that they wouldn't mind mailing me? I'd pay for your stamp.
