I'll grab the SE set. Glad I waited the whole 2 months for the better edition.

With Paramount, I wouldn't be surprised if the list price was $59.99.

Ditto. Though the wait was even more bearable since my dad bought me the barebones release as a gift.

I don't see a pre-order for this on Amazon yet, anyone know if the release has been pushed back?

I think some of the other regions are showing a February release date.

Apparently the boxset is now due to be released on January 31st. It will be limited to 5000 copies, each handsigned by Michael Bay, and include DOTM in 3D.

Where on that site does it say it will be in 3D only?

That site is describing a special signature version. I don't see anything that says that will be the only version.

Is it weird that every time I see Xage's Evil dead collection, I'm impressed beyond belief, but when I see his Transformers one I think 'what a huge waste of money'?

Yes. Unless Xage is planning to unload his collections for a fortune, I think they'd all fall under the "huge waste of money" category.

Re: Tranformers: Dark of the Moon - 9/30/11

There's a member on blu-ray.com who works in merchandising for one of the retailers and he says 1/24/12 is looking like the date for the 3D version.

A January release makes sense. They can blow out the standard combo pack through December heavily discounted. And also wait for more 3D sets to be sold that month. And of course, there will be plenty of gift cards given out that people will want to use in January.

A month after Christmas is not really a good time to release this. The next day (or day after) would have been. By the end of January, most people would have used up their GCs.

Re: Tranformers: Dark of the Moon - 9/30/11

I'm thinking though because this is a special release it doesn't matter. For the bulk of the people that just want the movie as is, they will have already purchased and the 3D is a moot point. For those that want the 3D, they'll gladly save a GC or use some cash. I think the 3D collectors will get it regardless.

Didn't Bay sign a load of the first film and sell them through his website? The money went to charity.

Haven't read this thread. Impulse bought DOTM for $10 from Amazon and upon opening the case was immediately pissed, here's a coupon for what you should have waited a bit longer for, fuck.
