Are the supplements only on the 3D version of the movie?

The supplements are on a separate Blu-ray disc from the 2D and 3D versions.

Picked up the 3D set today at B.B This is our very first true 3D movie to try out since getting the new TV...a Panasonic 55" GT30 plasma and matching BDT210 player. For $25.00 that's a good deal considering what most of the 3D movies are going for.

Re: Tranformers: Dark of the Moon - 9/30/11

Just snagged a copy at Target for $10 after PM'ing BB, coupon, and $5 GC. They even took a scanned copy of my coupon, so I can keep the original with the original BD when I sell it.

Sigh:

3D Apparently looks bad (picture quality-wise).

Not according to this review: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Transf...Blu-ray/26038/

The PQ in the 3D release is supposed to be identical to that of the 2D release. Of course, that was probably because of how the 3D release looks while wearing the glasses. Using a left or right screenshot from the 3D release will obviously look different.

He's concerned about the actual movie, not the box like you. Some people actually do open and watch the movies.

I'm meticulous also in spelling .. I assume that you meant "than" rather than "then".

I disagree on the buying habits, the big difference between me and is I got money and purchasing power. I can either throw or give away my purchase if I dont like it unlike him - he openly says he will sell his purchase/hoarded media movies to ebay

Proof of his statement found here:

Yes, you're so much better than him because you just throw away things you spent perfectly good money on. Brilliant

Re: Tranformers: Dark of the Moon - 9/30/11

This is interesting.

DOTM Blu-ray 3D Color/brightness is off from the 2d

From Michael Bay at:
http://www.shootfortheedit.com/forum...l=1#post198281

The reason some 3D TV color on some systems might not look perfect? Well because there is no standards in 3D. It sounds stupid doesn't it. When we color transfer we spend weeks on a single format. Six weeks on the feature, then weeks additional on DVD, then weeks more on 3D. Every single shot might have brightness windows color moves high light adds. My colors on almost every one of my films have had almost perfect color space scores. I'm the guy who did the first - film to digital - digital transfer release on a movie - Bad Boys 2. I know color and telecine equipment better then almost any director out there. But when I started doing my 3D transfer with the most talented color telecine expert in the world, my buddy Stephan. He told me 3D is fucked. There is no standard to the equipment it is the wild west right now. So if it looks bad it's your product. We aimed color space for the most the equipment that has the biggest market share. In our room it looked perfect. So I'm sorry but it's your equipment. Tell the business to standardize and it will all look perfect in the future. Sorry.

Michael

Re: Tranformers: Dark of the Moon - 9/30/11

Well he's not wrong. Which is why I found his statements about the 3D BD release being remastered rather odd. Remastered to what standard? I assume the theatrical look, which was brightened to counteract cinemas' bad habits of dimming the bulbs of the projectors (which is far more noticeable when watching in 3D because of the additional dimness introduced by the glasses).

That's why I'm glad that most (if not all) newed 3DTV sets allow you to make separate calibrations on your TV for both 2D and 3D viewing.
