It's been awhile since i last saw rotj. Did Vader say no only once and they added in the extra "NO!" ?

Either way it doesn't bother me much. It's just one extra line of dialogue that only lasts a few seconds. I still have the old unaltered versions on vhs. What is the dvds everyone keeps talking about? Are they the bootlegs that were the laserdisc transfers or the ones you can find in stores?

The 2006 releases with the unaltered Theatrical cuts on non-anamorphic bonus discs:

So much better without a word.. so much more dramatic.. so much more emotion...

But not how Lucas originally envisioned it. In fact, the 3D versions will have the Force Ghosts of Darth Maul and Count Dooku watching and screaming out "Nooooooo!" as Vader tosses the Emperor over the edge.

And when Luke crawls over to help Vader, Qui-Gon Jinn will appear over his shoulder and smile knowingly.

And Jar Jar shoots first.

And when Luke fights Vader, they will both be flipping, spinning, and jumping all over the place...just like in the prequels.

It really is amazing how two words of dialog can completely destroy a scene. So, so much better without the lame ass "No's" in there.

It's not a big deal to me either way, but if Lucas was going to tinker with adding Vader's voice in there - he could've at least done it better. The first "No" should've been louder and actually sound like James Earl Jones with his trademark deep voice (he sounds really wimpy here) - I have no problem with when it's said. The 2nd "Nooooo" should be removed altogether - it sounds really lame and doesn't sound like something Vader would say, even if he's just turned.

Then mute it when you watch it.

I'm torn as to whether I'm going to cancel my preorder or not. I was looking forward to owning this at last on Blu-ray.. I can deal with the changes as I had in the past, but the case looks to be awful. I'm going to look on deals for empty cases on ebay, but I would have much rather have had a nice case to begin with. I checked out the amazon.co.uk site and saw that they had a much better case, but the region of the blu-ray looks to be different.

There's a way to mute only parts of the audio? I'm confused, because it almost sounds like you're suggesting he mute THE ENTIRE AUDIO TRACK including score, sound effects, etc., and that should be acceptable. I'm sure I misunderstood.

All we need now is The Emperor screaming "unlimited power" in that scene and we'd have 2 worst delivered lines from the PT* in the climax of the OT.

Enough is enough! This is just getting silly. It's enough that he's messing with his own films but, uh, last time I checked, George Lucas did not direct Return of the Jedi.

Gimme the theatrical cuts in 1080p... no extras... PCM 2.0 track. I'm not paying top dollar into this mans' delusion any more.

There's nothing in the world stopping this guy from making a seamless branching version of the film with the original version and the "enhanced" version. He's got all the resources and money in the world and you're telling me that's impossible? He's just trolling now.

Heck, I hate puppet yoda from Episode I... but give me the option to remember how stupid it looked for giggles!

You forgot Sam Jackson's halfhearted scream when Mace Windu got his hand sliced off. They could add that to when Luke slices off Vader's hand.

Why is the top of Sam Jackson's head fading away? Did his parents not kiss at the Enchantment Under the Sea dance?
