I think it's pretty amazing looking myself.

It's interesting that they're hinting that the Holiday Special could be on there though

Wouldn't it be nice if there was a committee or person within LFL/ILM to say "No" and smack him on the nose?

The cover art for the box set should be a picture of Han ducking out of the way from Greedo's shot. Just go ahead and piss every one off when they are holding it in the store.

I seem to recall reading something about Lucas saying that if he had CGI Yoda back during the days, he would have had Yoda running and jumping with Luke during his training, but he didn't seem interested in replacing Oz's performance. The main reason for replacing him in TPM is that the puppet was so poorly constructed that it really stood out.

As for the artwork, there have been very few releases on any format over the years that I have liked, I don't even like Drew Struzan (heresy, I know).
If I ever figure out how to print custom artwork, I'll do that.

What is it about Star Wars that brings out everyone's inner retard on the internet? Why are you guys obsessing over some inner sleeve artwork that you'll probably glance at for a few seconds before moving onto the discs?

The only thing I can say about the past few pages is that it is not as bad as blu-ray.com's SW thread, which is already over 1,000 pages and has 30-page arguments over the color of Vader's lightsaber in the Blu-Ray trailer.

Somehow, while photoshopping this poster for the Blu-Ray artwork, they removed Lucas but left his shirt.

No. You got it wrong. That's Chewie's shirt now. ;)

The real question is why/when did Qui Gon start pumping his lips full of collagen?

Is it a pain? a little, but blu-ray discs are resilient.

Honestly, there will be probably hundreds of custom art designs for this set done to be used with regular packaging, so I can't understand people not wanting to pick this set up because of that

The Alien Legacy set came in the same kind of packaging and I have four scratched discs.

I first noticed the scratches the second time I played Alien, two very fine, parallel scratches about an inch long. Also a smaller scratch on Aliens, and small scuffs on both supplement discs. (Naturally, ^3 and Resurrection are pristine)

I believe the scuffs were on the discs when I got them; when I saw the scratches on Alien, I checked the other five discs and that was the first time I took the supplement discs out of the package. Since the scratches on Alien were parallel, I suspect they might have been scratched when the discs were put into the case at the factory, like maybe there was a bit of grit in the package before the disc went into it.

Unfortunately, it was too late to return the discs to Amazon since a month had passed since I bought it, but they don't seem to have any effect on playback. (Haven't gone though all of the supplements yet, though.)

Even with the scratch-resistant coating on blu-ray discs, it is not a good idea to house any kind of optical disc in packaging that has the playing surface sliding across a surface to remove it. This is just asking for problems and increases the likelihood the disc will eventually become damaged and unplayable.

I know from experience that blu-ray is much more sensitive to scratches than CD and DVD. I had one disc that was scratched when I bought it (the scratch actually looked like it was under the protective coating) that disrupted playback. It was a small scratch across the playing surface, probably about a half an inch long, that wouldn't have been an issue on either CD or DVD.

Buy 3 of these, improve the artwork by creating new covers, and everyone is happy. Happy happy happy.

Will the complete box set have discs exclusive only to it? Or will the two different trilogy sets have all these features as well? I'm tempted to get the two trilogy sets since I don't like the packaging the complete box set, but want to make sure they have the same material on the discs.

All bonus material on the discs not featuring the films is exclusive to the 6 film boxset.

The only extras on the movie discs are the commentaries. Everything else is on the 3 bonus discs that only come with the Saga set.

People need to complain about something to prove how hardcore they are. It's the internets.

I think they were trying to fill in the spot where R2's leg was in the original poster so they figured they could just pass the glow off as part of Leia's robe. You can't even really tell it was supposed to be a glow anymore... it just looks like Leia is wearing a white blurry blob for a robe.

+1000. I don't know what it is about Star Wars that makes people crazy. I love the movies, I really do, but I'm not going to waste time in my day to get into an argument over such trivial things. It's amazing that there are over 20K posts in the Star Wars BD thread at blu-ray.com, and about 5% of the posts are up to date and useful.

I haven't checked that thread in a while, but the last time I did, a lot of the posters in it were not just defending the prequel trilogy, but saying that they preferred them over the OT. It was truly bizarre.

But then they also have a 750 page thread about slip-covers...

I go over there quite a bit, but I try to avoid the star wars thread for fear that I might fracture a rib from gut laughing so hard. People get pretty rediculous on that thread.
